NATIONAL LEAGUE
COLORADO 4 – L.A. Dodgers 1… Kris Bryant doubled home a run and scored on Elehuris Montero’s single during a three-run bottom of the first inning and the Rockies coasted past the Dodgers in the opener of a doubleheader. Nolan Jones added a solo homer. Chase Anderson (1-6) pitched five-hit ball over five scoreless innings.

L.A. Dodgers 11 – COLORADO 2… David Peralta and Chris Taylor hit two-run singles during a five-run top of the first inning, Freddie Freeman homered with a runner aboard and the Dodgers belted the Rockies to earn a split of the twinbill. Bobby Miller (11-4) gave up two runs on seven hits over seven innings.

PHILADELPHIA 3 – Pittsburgh 2 (10 innings)… Johan Rojas singled home Cristian Pache with the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Phillies outlasted the Pirates and clinched a playoff berth. Brandon Marsh hit a leadoff homer and Bryce Harper lifted a sacrifice fly in the sixth.

ATLANTA 7 – Chi. Cubs 6… The Braves came alive to score all seven runs in their final three at-bats to squeeze past the Cubs. Atlanta scored the tying and go-ahead runs in the bottom of the eighth inning when Chicago right-fielder Seiya Suzuki misplayed a Sean Murphy fly ball. Kevin Pillar’s homer to lead off the sixth put Atlanta on the board.

St. Louis 4 – MILWAUKEE 1… Richie Palacios’ two-run double in the top of the fourth inning gave the Cardinals the lead for good in their win over the Brewers. Tommy Edman added a solo homer. Miles Mikolas (8-13) surrendered a run on five hits over seven innings.

San Diego 4 – SAN FRANCISCO 0… Seth Lugo (8-7) tossed three-hit ball over 8-2/3 innings before reliever Josh Hader came on to get the final out out in the Padres’ blanking of the Giants. Juan Soto homered twice and knocked in three runs for San Diego.

Miami – N.Y. METS (ppd)… A wet playing field in New York forced postponement of last night’s Marlins-Mets game. It will be made up today as part of a doubleheader.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
DETROIT 6 – Kansas City 3… Akil Baddoo and Parker Meadows broke a tie with back-to-back homers to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning and the Tigers scored twice more to double up on the Royals. Spencer Torkelson produced a two-run double.

N.Y. Yankees 2 – TORONTO 0… Austin Wells homered with a runner aboard in the top of the ninth inning to break a scoreless tie and send the Yankees past the Blue Jays. The game featured a duel between New York starter Michael King and his counterpart, Kevin Gausman, but neither got a decision.

Tampa Bay 9 – BOSTON 7… Manuel Margot went 4-for-4 with a pair of run-scoring singles in leading the Rays past the Red Sox. Jonathan Aranda had three hits, including a run-scoring single. Rene Pinto homered with a runner aboard.

MINNESOTA 11 – Oakland 3… Matt Wallner’s unloaded a grand slam to cap a five-run bottom of the first inning and the Twins never looked back in their thrashing of the Athletics. Alex Kirilloff added a two-run shot. Bailey Ober (8-6) pitched two-hit ball over five scoreless innings.

L.A. ANGELS 9 – Texas 1… The Angels breezed past the Rangers after spotting them an early run. Brandy Drury belted a go-ahead three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning. Michael Stefanic’s two-run single capped a five-run fifth.

SEATTLE 6 – Houston 2… Mariners starter George Kirby limited the Astros to five hits over six scoreless innings. Cal Raleigh and Teoscar Hernández produced run-scoring singles for Seattle. Ty France smacked a solo homer.

INTERLEAGUE
BALTIMORE 1 – Washington 0… Gunnar Henderson’s homer to lead off the bottom of the first inning provided the game’s only offense as the Orioles clipped the Nationals. Kyle Bradish (12-7) pitched three-hit ball over eight innings and reliever Yennier Cano completed the shutout.

Cincinnati 11 – CLEVELAND 7… The Reds overcame an early three-run deficit to slug their way past the Guardians. Luke Maile homered to lead off the top of the third inning and stroked a go-ahead two-run single in the fifth. Eli De La Cruz homered twice, singled home a run and drove in four runs. Christian Encarnacion-Strand hit a two-run homer. TJ Friedl also went deep.

Arizona 15 – CHI. WHITE SOX 4… The Diamondbacks overcame a 4-1 deficit to blow past the White Sox. Christian Walker homered to lead off the top of the second inning, cleared the bases with a fifth-inning triple and homered with a runner aboard in the sixth during a six-RBI outburst. Ketel Marte also went deep. Geraldo Perdomo tripled home two runs.
