Moberly dominated the second half on their way to a 35-6 win over the Kirksville Tigers Friday at Spainhower Field. Kirksville took the opening kickoff and drove 80 yards in under four minutes, scoring on a 32 yard pass from Ryder Lyons to Malik Rodriquez, but Moberly would go on a 35-0 run the rest of the game. Lyons came up with a huge sack of Moberly quarterback Jackson Engle deep in Kirksville territory to end the first half and keep the score 14-6 in favor of the Spartans. Midway through the third quarter, Moberly turned a Kirksville fumble into a touchdown to make it 21-6 in a key turning point in the game. In all, the Tigers turned the ball over three times, twice in the second half. Moberly racked up 393 yards of total offense. Kirksville only managed 94 total yards in the second half after gaining 163 in the first half. Lyons finished the game 11 out of 26 for 230 yards. KHS slips to 1-3 on the year, 0-1 in NCMC play, Moberly is 4-0 on the season, 1-0 in conference play. Next, it’s Hall Of Fame night Friday when the Tigers entertain Marshall. Mexico beat the Owls Friday 21-14.
