NATIONAL LEAGUE
COLORADO 7 – Chi. Cubs 3… The Rockies came from three runs down after 3-1/2 innings to roll past the Cubs. Nolan Jones and Elehuris Montero hit two-run homers. Ryan McMahon went 3-for-4 with a solo homer.

PITTSBURGH 7 – Washington 6… The Pirates built a 7-1 lead through four innings and escaped with a win over the Nationals. Bryan Reynolds went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer. Joshua Palacios and Liover Peguero each had two hits and an RBI.

Atlanta 4  – PHILADELPHIA 1… Austin Riley homered with a runner aboard in the top of the first inning and lifted a sacrifice fly as Braves clinched the NL East title with the defeat of the Phillies. Spencer Strider (17-5) allowed just a first-inning run on four hits over seven innings.

N.Y. METS 7 – Arizona 1… Joey Lucchesi (3-0) limited the Diamondbacks to an unearned run on five hits over seven innings and got plenty of support in the Diamondbacks win. Mark Vientos hit a two-run homer. Pete Alonso drove in three runs with a single and a double.

Miami 2 – MILWAUKEE 0… Braxton Garrett (9-6) held the Brewers to four hits over six innings and got help from three Marlins relievers in the shutout win. Xavier Edwards singled home the only run Miami needed in the top of the fifth inning. Garrett Hampson added an RBI double in the seventh.

San Diego 6 – L.A. DODGERS 1… Blake Snell (14-9) limited the Dodgers to one hit over six innings and the Padres cruised to the win. Luis Campusano smashed a three-run homer in the top of the fourth inning. Juan Soto went 2-for-3 with a solo homer. Fernando Tatis Jr. singled home two runs.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Tampa Bay 5 – MINNESOTA 4… Randy Arozarena’s two-out solo homer in the top of the ninth inning powered the Rays past the Twins after they blew a four-run lead. Yandy Diaz lined a two-run double for Tampa Bay. Curtis Mead had a couple of hits, including an RBI double.

SEATTLE 3 – L.A. Angels 2… Teoscar Hernández’s infield single scored Julio Rodríguez with the decisive run in the bottom of the fifth inning as the Mariners held off the Angels. Rodriguez doubled home a run and Cal Raleigh produced a game-tying RBI single.

Texas 10 – TORONTO 0… The Rangers got three-run homers from Mitch Garver and Nathaniel Lowe, along with a two-run shot from Robbie Grossman, in their bombing of the Blue Jays. Jordan Montgomery (9-11) tossed four-hit ball over seven innings. Two relievers shut the door. Texas pulled within two games of first-place Baltimore in the AL East.

HOUSTON 6 – Oakland 2… Hunter Brown (11-11) held the Athletics hitless over five scoreless innings and the Astros maintained their one-game lead over Texas atop the AL West with the win. Yordan Alvarez blasted a three-run homer and Alex Bregman followed with a solo shot in the bottom of the fourth inning. Kyle Tucker also went deep for Houston.

Kansas City 7 – CHI. WHITE SOX 1… Michael Massey’s two-run homer in the top of the second inning provided all the offense the Royals needed in their pounding of the White Sox. Salvador Perez had three hits and drove in two runs. Nick Loftin also had two RBIs. Alec Marsh (1-8) came on in the third inning and surrendered a run on three hits over 4-1/3 innings to earn the win.

N.Y. Yankees – BOSTON (ppd)… Rain in Boston forced postponement of last night’s Yankees-Red Sox game for the second time in the four-game series. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader today.

INTERLEAGUE
SAN FRANCISCO 6 – Cleveland 5 (10 innings)… The Giants overcame an early four-run deficit to outlast the Guardians. LaMonte Wade Jr.’s sacrifice fly scored Patrick Bailey with the winning run. J.D. Davis belted a game-tying three-run homer in the eighth.

St. Louis 1 – BALTIMORE 0… Drew Rom (1-2) pitched two-hit ball over 5-1/3 innings and four relievers completed the shutout of the Orioles. Richie Palacios’ homer in the top of the fourth inning accounted for the game’s only run.

Cincinnati 4 – DETROIT 3…TJ Friedl legged out a two-run triple in the top of the second inning and the Reds scored twice more in the fourth on their way past the Tigers. Seven relievers combined to hurl five scoreless innings.
