MLB Scores Wednesday 9-6

NATIONAL LEAGUE
PITTSBURGH 5 – Milwaukee 4… Ji Hwan Bae tripled home a tying run in the bottom of the seventh inning and scored what proved to be the decisive run on Miguel Andujar’s single as the Pirates fought off the Brewers. Ke’Bryan Hayes smacked a solo homer in the first.

CHI. CUBS 8 – San Francisco 2… Seiya Suzuki cleared the bases with a double in the bottom of the first inning and the Cubs breezed past the Giants. Cody Bellinger doubled home a run and homered. Miguel Amaya also went deep.

ARIZONA 12 – Colorado 5… The Diamondbacks overcame a pair of four-run deficits to blow past the Rockies. Alek Thomas belted a three-run homer to highlight a five-run bottom of the third inning and added a two-run single. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. singled home a run and homered with the bases empty.

Philadelphia 5 – SAN DIEGO 1… Zack Wheeler (11-6) pitched one-hit ball over six scoreless innings and the Phillies breezed past the Padres. Kyle Schwarber homered to lead off the game. J.T. Realmuto also went deep. Bryce Harper stroked a two-run double.

MIAMI 11 – L.A. Dodgers 4… The Marlins got a three-run homer from Jazz Chisholm Jr., a two-run shot from Joey Wendle and a solo blast from Jesús Sánchez during a three-run bottom of the fifth inning and never looked back in their pounding of the Dodgers. Wendle also doubled home a run. Luis Arraez stroked a two-run double.

WASHINGTON 3 – N.Y. Mets 2… The Nationals came from two runs down after six innings to upend the Mets. Ildemaro Vargas and CJ Abrams smacked run-scoring singles in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game and Jacob Young singled home Carter Kieboom with the winning run in the ninth.

St. Louis 11 – ATLANTA 6… The Cardinals jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three innings but needed a power barrage in the late innings to put away the Braves. Paul  Goldschmidt got things going with a two-run homer in the top of the first inning. Masyn Winn and Willson Contreras added solo shots before Nolan Gorman capped the scoring with a three-run homer in the eighth.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
CLEVELAND 2 – Minnesota 1… Gavin Williams (2-5) allowed only an Andrew Stevenson run-scoring single over five innings and the Guardians held off the Twins. Will Brennan singled home a run in the bottom of the second inning and added a run-scoring double in the fourth.

OAKLAND 5 – Toronto 2… Kevin Smith’s three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning powered the Athletics past the Blue Jays. Carlos Perez gave Oakland the lead for good with a two-run homer in the fourth. JP Sears (4-11) allowed a run on four hits over five innings.

TAMPA BAY 3 – Boston 1… Tyler Glasnow (8-5) limited the Red Sox to a run on three hits and struck out 14 over six innings before three Rays relievers shut the door. Brandon Lowe and Isaac Paredes hit solo homers. Harold Ramírez doubled home a run.

N.Y. YANKEES 4 – Detroit 3… Jasson Dominguez connected for a tie-breaking solo homer in the bottom of the third inning and the Yankees held off the Tigers. Gleyber Torres singled home Aaron Judge with what proved to be the decisive run in the fourth.

Chi. White Sox 6 – KANSAS CITY 4… Andrew Vaughn hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning and the White Sox got solo homers from Yoan Moncada and Oscar Colás in putting away the Royals. Elvis Andrus had four hits for Chicago.

Houston 12 – TEXAS 3… José Abreu had three hits, including a pair of homers, and drove in three runs to lead the Astros as they crushed the Rangers for the second straight night. Yordan Alvarez homered with a runner aboard and Chas McCormick added a solo shot.

Baltimore 10 – L.A. ANGELS 3… Anthony Santander went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and RBI infield single as the Orioles hammered the Angels and completed a three-game sweep. Austin Hays went 4-for-4 with a solo homer, four RBIs and three runs scored.

INTERLEAGUE
Seattle 8 – CINCINNATI 4… The Mariners got a thee-run homer from J.P. Crawford, a  two-run shot from Mike Ford and a solo blast from Cal Raleigh in doubling up on the Reds. Ty France drove in two runs with a double and a single.
