NATIONAL LEAGUE
ST. LOUIS 6 – San Diego 5 (10 innings)… Tommy Edman singled home Masyn Winn in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Cardinals a come-from-behind win over the Padres. Willson Contreras’ second homer was a two-run shot that tied the game in the eighth.

CHI. CUBS 1 – Milwaukee 0… Justin Steele (15-3) pitched five-hit ball over six innings and three Cubs relievers completed the shutout of the Brewers. Cody Bellinger’s infield grounder in the bottom of the first inning off tough-luck loser Corbin Burnes (9-7) scored Niko Hoerner with the game’s only run.

Atlanta 3 – COLORADO 1… Charlie Morton (14-10) limited the Rockies to a run on three hits over six innings and the Braves breezed to the win. Marcell Ozuna homered to lead off the top of the second inning and singled home a run.

SAN FRANCISCO 6 – Cincinnati 1… Alex Cobb (7-5) took a no-hit shutout into the ninth inning and allowed only a Spencer Steer RBI double in the Giants’ defeat of the Reds. Patrick Bailey homered with a runner aboard for San Francisco.

L.A. DODGERS 9 – Arizona 1… Jason Heyward’s two-run double capped a three-run bottom of the first inning and the Dodgers never looked back in their thrashing of the Diamondbacks. Mookie Betts and Will Smith hit solo homers. Clayton Kershaw (12-4) allowed a run on three hits over five innings.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
N.Y. Yankees 4 – DETROIT 2… The Yankees got solo homers from Greyber Torres, Kyle Higashioka and Anthony Volpe in powering their way past the Tigers. Michael King blanked Detroit on three hits over the first four innings and Jhony Brito (5-6) threw 3-1/3 innings tossed of scoreless relief to get the win.

BALTIMORE 9 – Chi. White Sox 3… Anthony Santander’s bases-clearing double broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning and the Orioles went on to put away the White Sox. Ryan McKenna contributed a two-run double.

Houston 6 – BOSTON 2… Alex Bregman had three hits, including a solo homer and a run-scoring single, as the Astros cruised past the Red Sox. Mauricio Dubón doubled home two runs. J.P. France (10-5) allowed two runs on five hits over 5-2/3 innings.

Cleveland 4 – MINNESOTA 2… Bo Naylor homered with the bases empty and Will Brennan singled home a run as the Guardians squeaked past the Twins. Steven Kwan had three hits for Cleveland.

Oakland 3 – SEATTLE 1… Seth Brown hit a solo homer in the top of the first inning. Shea Langeliers connected with a runner aboard in the second and the Athletics held off the Mariners. Six pitchers combined on a four-hitter and struck out 12.

INTERLEAGUE
PHILADELPHIA 12 – L.A. Angels 7… Alec Bohm hit a three-run homer and Trea Turner tripled home two runs during a six-run bottom of the sixth inning that gave the Phillies the lead for good in their win over the Angels. Turner, Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber hit solo homers for Philadelphia. Bryson Stott added a two-run shot.

Tampa Bay 11 – MIAMI 2… Isaac Paredes singled home a run and blasted a three-run homer as the Rays pounded the Marlins. Randy Arozarena homered with a runner aboard and Brandon Lowe connected for a solo shot. Aaron Civale (7-3) allowed two runs on seven hits over five innings.

Washington 5 – TORONTO 4… Carter Kieboom opened the scoring with a two-run homer in the top of the second inning, Keibert Ruiz added a three-run shot in the fifth and the Nationals held off the Blue Jays. MacKenzie Gore (7-10) surrendered a run on six hits over five innings.

Texas 2 – N.Y. METS 1… Mitch Garver broke a scoreless tie with a homer to lead off the top of the seventh inning and scored the decisive run in the ninth on Ezequiel Duran’s ninth-inning single as the Rangers topped the Mets. The game featured a duel between Texas starter Andrew Heaney and his counterpart José Quintana, but neither got a decision.

Pittsburgh 6 – KANSAS CITY 3… Ke’Bryan Hayes hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning and Liover Peguero blasted a three-run homer during a four-run ninth as the Pirates doubled up on the Royals. Luis Ortiz (3-4) allowed a run on three hits in five innings of relief to claim the victory.
