NATIONAL LEAGUE
PHILADELPHIA 10 – San Francisco 4… Kyle Schwarber and Edmundo Sosa hit two-run homers, Bryce Harper and Alec Bohm added solo shots, and the Phillies pounded the Giants. Aaron Nola (11-8) allowed two runs on seven hits over seven innings.
PITTSBURGH 11 – St. Louis 1… Joshua Palacios belted a three-run homer and doubled home two runs in leading the Pirates to a romp over the Cardinals. Connor Joe went 3-for-4 with an RBI double and four runs scored. Bailey Falter (1-7) gave up a run on three hits over six innings in relief of starter Thomas Hatch.
N.Y. Mets 10 – ATLANTA 4… Francisco Lindor had a couple of hits, including a three-run homer to help power the Mets past the Braves. Rafael Ortega added a two-run shot. DJ Stewart also went deep.
SAN DIEGO 6 – Miami 2… Ha-Seong Kim unloaded a grand slam in the bottom of the second inning and the Padres breezed past the Marlins. Manny Machado smacked a solo homer. Michael Wacha (10-2) limited Miami to a run on five hits over 5-1/3 innings
AMERICAN LEAGUE
HOUSTON 9 – Boston 4… The Astros overcame an early three-run deficit to cruise past the Red Sox. Yordan Alvarez singled home a tie-breaking run in the bottom of the second inning before Chas McCormick homered twice and drove in four runs. Yandy Diaz also went deep for Houston.
Seattle 14 – CHI. WHITE SOX 2… The Mariners opened with a five-run top of the first inning and never looked back in their dismantling of the White Sox. Cal Raleigh homered twice and knocked in six runs. Teoscar Hernández homered and singled home two runs. Dominic Canzone also went deep.
OAKLAND 6 – Kansas City 4… Brent Rooker’s two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Athletics a walkoff win over the Royals. Jordan Diaz, Zack Gelof and Shea Langeliers all homered with the bases empty for Oakland.
INTERLEAGUE
Chi. Cubs 7 – DETROIT 6… Nick Madrigal drove home a tie-breaking run in the top of the ninth inning with his second run-scoring double of the game and came around to score the decisive run on Ian Happ’s infield grounder to push the Cubs past the Tigers. Seiya Suzuki homered with the bases empty for Chicago.
ARIZONA 4 – Texas 3 (11 innings)… The Diamondbacks rallied to score three runs in the bottom of the 11th inning and upend the Rangers. Gerardo Perdomo doubled home a run and Tommy Pham’s double brought home the tying and winning runs. Ketel Marte homered for Arizona.
Cincinnati – L.A. ANGELS… A wet field following tropical storm Hilary forced postponement of last night’s Reds-Angels game. It will be made up tomorrow.
