NATIONAL LEAGUE
N.Y. METS 8 – Pittsburgh 3… DJ Stewart homered twice and knocked in three runs to lead the Mets past the Pirates. Francisco Lindor stroked a two-run single. Pete Alonso homered to lead off the bottom of the seventh inning. Tylor Megill (7-6) allowed two runs on five hits over five innings.
Arizona 9 – COLORADO 7… Christian Walker went 3-for-3 with a pair of long home runs, four RBIs and three runs scored as the Diamondbacks outslugged the Rockies. Nick Ahmed legged out a bases-clearing triple.
L.A. DODGERS 7 – Milwaukee 1… Will Smith went 3-for-3 with a sacrifice fly and a run-scoring single in leading the Dodgers past the Brewers. Miguel Rojas and Chris Taylor hit solo homers. Clayton Kershaw (11-4) gave up just a run on three hits over five innings.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
Detroit 8 – MINNESOTA 7… The Tigers erased an early four-run deficit and held on at the end to edge the Twins. Hunter Greene went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and four RBIs. Spencer homered twice with the bases empty and Kerry Carpenter also went deep.
L.A. Angels 2 – TEXAS 0… Reid Detmers (3-9) limited the Rangers to one hit over 7-1/3 innings and got help from two Angels relievers in the shutout. Shohei Ohtani connected for his 42nd homer and Matt Thaiss also went deep for L.A.
Seattle 6 – KANSAS CITY 5… Julio Rodríguez singled home Sam Haggerty with what proved to be the winning run in the top of the ninth inning as the Mariners held off the Royals. Cal Raleigh’s two-run homer capped a three-run first for Chicago.
INTERLEAGUE
Tampa Bay 6 – SAN FRANCISCO 1… Aaron Civale (6-3) scattered five hits over six scoreless innings and the Rays breezed past the Giants. Brandon Lowe homered with a runner aboard. Luke Raley came through with a pinch-hit inside-the-park homer. Josh Lowe also smacked a solo homer.
CINCINNATI 7 – Cleveland 2… Matt McLain doubled home a run and hit a two-run homer to help the Reds take an early lead and they coasted past the Guardians. Stuart Fairchild also homered with a runner aboard. Andrew Abbott (8-3) allowed two runs on six hits over five innings.
Houston 12 – MIAMI 5… Alex Bregman and Kyle Tucker hit back-to-back solo homers and Chas McCormick added a two-run shot during a five-run top of the first inning and the Astros went on to down the Marlins. Bregman lined a two-run double and Tucker singled home two runs to key a six-run seventh.
Oakland 8 – ST. LOUIS 0… Paul Blackburn (3-3) held the Cardinals to six hits over seven innings and Athletics reliever Austin Pruitt completed the shutout. Jordan Diaz doubled home two runs and came around to score during a four-run top of the first inning. Zack Gelof drove in two runs with a single and a double. Pinch-hitter Tyler Soderstrom capped the scoring with a ninth-inning solo homer.
WASHINGTON 6 – Boston 2… Keibert Ruiz blasted a three-run homer and Stone Garrett homered in the next at-bat during a four-run bottom of the eighth inning that carried the Nationals past the Red Sox. Washington starter MacKenzie Gore tossed one-hit ball over 6-1/3 innings but the win went to reliever Jose Ferrer (2-0).
Philadelphia 9 – TORONTO 4… Bryce Harper went 3-for-4 with a pair of solo homers and the Phillies handled the Blue Jays. Jake Cave lifted a sacrifice fly and homered with the bases empty.
ATLANTA 2 – N.Y. Yankees 0… Eddie Rosario’s two-run homer provided all the offense the Braves needed in their win over the Yankees. Charlie Morton (12-10) pitched four-hit ball and struck out 10 over six innings.
CHI. CUBS 4 – Chi. White Sox 3… Christopher Morel’S walkoff three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Cubs a dramatic win over the White Sox. Nick Madrigal put the Cubs on the board with a pinch-hit homer to lead off the eighth.
SAN DIEGO 5 – Baltimore 2… Fernando Tatis Jr. went 3-for-4 with an RBI single to spark a three-run bottom of the third inning and a steal of home in the seventh as the Padres eased past the Orioles. Trent Grisham smacked a solo homer. Blake Snell (10-8) surrendered two runs on three hits over six innings.
