MLB Scores Tuesday 8-15

NATIONAL LEAGUE
Pittsburgh 7 – N.Y. METS 4… The Pirates buried the Mets with a six-run top of the seventh inning. A bases-loaded walk, a hit by pitch and a passed ball accounted for the first three runs before Jason Delay slammed a two-run double.

Arizona 8 – COLORADO 5… The Diamondbacks rallied to score five runs in the top of the ninth inning and upend the Rockies. Ketel Marte sparked the uprising with a game-tying two-run single and scored the decisive run on Tommy Pham’s double..

L.A. DODGERS 6 – Milwaukee 2… The Dodgers got the better of the Brewers in a matchup of division leaders and extended their winning streak to nine games. Enrique Hernández stroked a two-run single to highlight a five-run bottom of the sixth inning. Bobby Miller (7-2) gave up just a run on on e hit over six innings.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
MINNESOTA 5 – Detroit 3… Royce Lewis singled home a run and Matt Wallner unloaded a grand slam as the Twins scored all five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to sneak past the Tigers. Minnesota managed just one hit over the first five innings off Detroit starter Alex Faedo.

TEXAS 7 – L.A. Angels 3… Corey Seager had three hits, including a pair of homers, and knocked in five runs to lead the Rangers past the Angels. Jordan Montgomery (8-10) surrendered a run on six hits over six innings. Christian Walker homered with a runner aboard for Arizona.

Seattle 10 – KANSAS CITY 8 (10 innings)… The Mariners outlasted the Royals after blowing a 7-0 lead. Ty France delivered a two-run single in the top of the 10th inning. Eugenio Suarez and France hit back-to-back homers to lead off the fourth. Teoscar Hernández went 5-for-5 with a two-run homer and an RBI double.

INTERLEAGUE
Cleveland 3 – CINCINNATI 0… L.T. Allen (6-5) limited the Reds to four hits over six innings and three Guardians relievers completed the shutout. Kole Calhoun provided all the offense Cleveland needed with a two-run single in the top of the first inning.

Houston 6 – MIAMI 5… The Astros erased a three-run deficit on their way past the Marlins. Chas McCormick smacked a game-tying solo homer in the top of the sixth inning and Kyle Tucker’s homer in the seventh provided the winning margin. Yainer Diaz homered with a runner aboard.

Boston 5 – WASHINGTON 4… The Red Sox pushed across a pair of runs on a double play and a wild pitch in the top of the fourth inning to take the lead for good in their defeat of the Nationals. Alex Verdugo smacked a solo homer in he first and Triston Casas added a two-run single in the third.

TORONTO 2 – Philadelphia 1… Cavan Biggio was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning to force home George Springer with the decisive run as the Blue Jays squeezed out a win over the Phillies. Springer singled home Whit Merrifield with a tying run in the sixth. The game featured a duel between Toronto starter Yusei Kikuchi and his counterpart Zack Wheeler but neither got a decision.,

ATLANTA 5 – N.Y. Yankees 0… Bryce Elder (9-4) pitched one-hit ball over seven innings and the Braves breezed past the Yankees. Marcell Ozuna belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning and Ronald Acuña Jr. added a two-run shot in the fourth.

ST. LOUIS 6 – Oakland 2… Nolan Arenado staked the Cardinals to an early lead with a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning and they cruised past the Athletics. Tommy Edman and Jordan Walker also went deep. Dakota Hudson (4-0) surrendered two runs on five hits over 6-2/3 innings.

Chi. White Sox 5 – CHI. CUBS 3… Luis Robert Jr. cracked a ie-breaking solo homer in the top of the seventh inning and Anthony Benintendi added a run-scoring double in the ninth as the White Sox put way the Cubs. Elvis Andrus contributed a two-run single.

SAN DIEGO 10 – Baltimore 3… Gary Sánchez unloaded a grand slam to cap a five-run bottom of the first inning and the Padres never looked back in their thrashing of the Orioles. Manny Machado and Ben Gamel drilled two-run doubles. Michael Wacha (9-2) tossed three-hit ball over five scoreless innings.

SAN FRANCISCO 7 – Tampa Bay 0… Four pitchers combined on a three-hitter and struck out 15 batters as the Giants blanked the Rays. Wilmer Flores homered with a runner aboard and Thairo Estrada also went deep. Michael Conforto went 3-for-4 with a run-scoring double.
