NATIONAL LEAGUE
N.Y. METS 7 – Pittsburgh 2… Jonathan Araúz homered with a runner aboard and the Mets got solo shots from Brandon Nimmo and Daniel Vogelbach in rolling past the Pirates. Five relievers held Pittsburgh scoreless on one hit over the final six innings.
COLORADO 6 – Arizona 4… The Rockies rallied to score five runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and upend the Diamondbacks. Brendan Rodgers’ two-run single sparked the uprising. Nolan Jones and Alan Trejo added run-scoring singles. Elehuris Montero and Ezequiel Tovar hit solo homers.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
TEXAS 12 – L.A. Angels 0… Max Scherzer (12-4) pitched one-hit ball and struck out 11 over seven innings as the Rangers bombed the Angels. Marcus Semien had a couple of hits, including a three-run homer, and knocked in five runs. Adolis Garcia added a two-run shot.
KANSAS CITY 7 – Seattle 6… Dairon Blanco squeezed home Samad Taylor with the winning run as the Royals scored twice in the bottom of the ninth inning to get past the Mariners. Salvador Perez staked Kansas City to an early lead with a three-run homer in the first. Bobby Witt Jr. legged out an inside-the-park homer in the fifth.
INTERLEAGUE
MIAMI 5 – Houston 1… Jon Berti doubled home a run and came around to score on a passed ball to provide all the offense the Marlins needed in their win over the Astros. Consecutive solo homers by Jorge Soler, Luis Arraez and Josh Bell in the eighth put the game away. Braxton Garrett (7-3) pitched four-hit ball over six scoreless innings.
ATLANTA 11 – N.Y. Yankees 3… Eddie Rosario hit a two-run single and homered with a runner aboard as the Braves hammered the Yankees. Austin Riley also went deep. Nicky Lopez went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs.
ST. LOUIS 7 – Oakland 5… Jordan Walker’s bases-clearing triple capped a four-run bottom of the eighth inning that sent the Cardinals past the Athletics. Paul Goldschmidt connected for a two-run homer.
Baltimore 4 – SAN DIEGO 1… Grayson Rodriguez (3-3) allowed just a run on three hits over seven innings and the Orioles breezed past the Padres. Ryan O’Hearn homered to lead off the top of the second inning and cleared the bases with a double in the fifth.
Tampa Bay 10 – SAN FRANCISCO 2… The Rays throttled the Giants with an 18-hit attack. Christian Bethancourt had three hits, including an RBI single and a solo homer. Harold Ramirez went 3-for-5 with an RBI triple and three runs scored. Tyler Glasnow (6-3) surrendered just a run on three hits over six innings.
