MLB Scores Thursday 8-10

NATIONAL LEAGUE
PITTSBURGH 7 – Atlanta 5… The Pirates came from four runs down to top the Braves. Ke’Bryan Hayes had a couple of hits and knocked in three runs for the third straight game. Liover Peguero contributed a pair of run-scoring singles.

PHILADELPHIA 6 – Washington 2… Trea Turner’s two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning gave the Phillies the lead for good in their win over the Nationals. Nick Castellanos and J.T. Realmuto added two-run homers.

L.A. DODGERS 2 – Colorado 1… Max Muncy hit a game-tying homer to lead off the bottom of the seventh inning and drew a bases-loaded walk to force home the decisive run in the eighth as the Dodgers squeeked past the Rockies. Newly acquired Ryan Yarbrough (5-5) threw three scoreless innings in relief of starter Clayton Kershaw to get the win.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
BALTIMORE 5 – Houston 4… Yainer Diaz’s infield single brought home Jose Altuve with a tie-breaking run in the top of the ninth inning and the Orioles made it stand in edging the Astros. Diaz also put Houston on the board with a homer to lead off the second. Altuve added a solo homer

DETROIT 3 – Minnesota 0… Reese Olson (2-5) limited the Twins to two hits over six innings and two Tigers relievers held them hitless the rest of the way. Hunter Greene broke a scoreless tie with a two-out solo homer in the bottom of the sixth inning. Alex McKinstry lined a two-run double in the eighth.

CLEVELAND 4 – Toronto 3… Brayan Rocchio stroked a pair of run-scoring doubles to help push the Guardians past the Blue Jays. Jose Tena went 2-for-3 with an RBI single. Noah Syndergaard (2-5) surrendered a run on six hits over 5-2/3 innings.

BOSTON 2 – Kansas City 0… James Paxton (7-3) scattered six hits over 5-1/3 innings and four Red Sox relievers completed the shutout of the Royals. Alex Verdugo doubled home the only run Boston needed in he bottom of the fourth inning and Adam Duval added an RBI double in the fifth.

INTERLEAGUE
St. Louis 5 – TAMPA BAY 2.. The Cardinals got a two-run homer from Andrew Knizner and a solo shot from Tommy Edman in breezing past the Rays. Matthew Liberatore (2-4) held Tampa Bay to two hits over eight scoreless innings.
