MLB Scores Sunday 8-6

NATIONAL LEAGUE
Washington 6 – CINCINNATI 3… The Nationals scored four times in the top of the first inning and went on to double up on the Reds. CJ Abrams and Lane Thomas hit the game’s first two pitches for home runs. Thomas also doubled home a run and lifted a sacrifice fly. Jake Alu contributed a two-run single.

Pittsburgh 4 – MILWAUKEE 1… The Pirates got solo homers from Endy Rodríguez and Connor Joe, along with a two-run shot from pinch-hitterBrian Reynolds, in breezing past the Brewers. Johan Oviedo (6-11) pitched two-hit ball over seven scoreless innings.

Colorado 1 – ST. LOUIS 0… Austin Gomber (9-8) scattered six hits over six innings and three Rockies relievers completed the blanking of the Cardinals. Ezequiel Tovar’s sacrifice fly in the top of the third inning scored Brenton Doyle with the game’s only run.

CHI. CUBS 6 – Atlanta 4… Ian Happ drove in a pair of runs and scored the go-ahead  run in the bottom of the fifth inning on Cody Bellinger’s double as the Cubs topped the Braves. Dansby Swanson also had two RBIs.

L.A. Dodgers 8 – SAN DIEGO 2… Amed Rosario homered with a runner aboard in the top of the first inning and Freddie Freeman added a three-run shot in the second to give the Dodgers a big lead early and they coasted past the Padres. Mookie Betts also homered for L.A. Lance Lynn (8-9) allowed a run on four hits over six innings.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Chi. White Sox 5 – CLEVELAND 3… Elvis Andrus stroked a tie-breaking two-run single to cap a three-run top of the ninth inning that carried the White Sox past the Guardians. Luis Robert Jr. tripled home a run and scored on Eloy Jiménez’s sacrifice fly in the first.

Houston 9 – N.Y. YANKEES 7… Jake Meyers belted a pair of three-run homers to help power the Astros past the Yankees. Yordan Alvarez homered with a runner aboard and Martin Maldonado cracked a solo shot.

Toronto 13 – BOSTON 1… Davis Schneider went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer and four RBIs to lead the Blue Jays in their dismantling of the Red Sox. Matt Chapman knocked in three runs with a double and a single. Chris Bassitt (11-6) surrendered a run on seven hits over seven innings.

Tampa Bay 10 – DETROIT 6… The Rays jumped out to a 5-0 lead after their first two at-bats and slugged their way past the Tigers. Yandy Diaz and Wander Franco hit two-run homers. Brandon Lowe smacked a solo shot.

Seattle 3 – L.A. ANGELS 2 (10 innings)… Eugenio Suárez singled home Ty France with a tie-breaking run in the top of the ninth inning and the Mariners made it stand in finishing off a series sweep of the Angels. J.P. Crawford and Teoscar Hernández hit solo homers for Seattle.

INTERLEAGUE
BALTIMORE 2 – N.Y. Mets 0… Starter Kyle Bradish and four relievers combined on a four-hitter as the Orioles shut out the Mets to complete a sweep of the series. RBI infield grounders by Adley Rutschman and pinch-hitter Ryan O’Hearn accounted for the game’s only scoring.

PHILADELPHIA 8 – Kansas City 4… Kyle Schwarber’s two-run homer in the bottom of the second inning gave the Phillies a 5-4 lead and they held off the Royals the rest of the way. Nick Castellanos added a two-run homer in the fifth. Bryson Stott put Philadelphia on the board with a three-run blast in the first.

MINNESOTA 5 – Arizona 3… Matt Wallner’s tie-breaking two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Twins a walkoff win and a sweep of the Diamondbacks. Max Kepler led off the final inning with a game-tying homer. Carlos Correa stroked a two-run single in the sixth.

TEXAS 6 – Miami 0… Albert Heaney (9-6) held the Marlins to four hits over 5-2/3 innings and three Rangers relievers did the rest in the shutout. Nathaniel Lowe hit a two-run homer. Marcus Semien, Adolis García and Ezequiel Duran also went deep.

OAKLAND 8 – San Francisco 6… The Athletics erased a three-run deficit after 4-1/2 innings in rallying past the Giants. Shea Langeliers delivered a go-ahead two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning. Nick Allen went 3-for-4 with a pair of homers and three RBIs.
