MLB SCOREBOARD…
NATIONAL LEAGUE
WASHINGTON 3 – Milwaukee 2… A throwing error by Brewers third-baseman Andrew Monasterio allowed Corey Dickerson and Ildemaro Vargas to score in the bottom of the ninth inning and give the Nationals a walkoff win. Jake Alu singled home Washington’s first run.

San Diego 11 – COLORADO 1… Gary Sánchez went 3-for-5 with a pair of homers and four RBIs in leading the Padres past the Rockies. Fernando Tatis Jr. belted a three-run homer. Ha-Seong Kim homered to lead off the game.

MIAMI 9 – Philadelphia 8 (12 innings)… The Marlins came from five runs down to outlast the Phillies. Jesús Sánchez singled home Jazz Chisholm Jr. with the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning. Both teams scored twice in the 10th and added single runs in the 11th. Chisholm Jr., Jorge Soler and Josh Bell hit solo homers for Miami. Bell had four hits on the night.

CHI. CUBS 16 – Cincinnati 6… The Cubs erased an early three-run deficit and blew away the Reds. Ian Happ smacked a pair of solo homers. Christopher Morel hit a two-run homer and doubled home a run. Dansby Swanson and Seiya Suzuki also connected.

SAN FRANCISCO 4 – Arizona 2… J.D. Davis came through with a tie-breaking two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning and the Giants made it stand in doubling up on the Diamondbacks. Brandon Crawford tripled Davis home with San Francisco’s first run in the fifth and scored on Isan Diaz’s single. Logan Webb (9-9) gave up two runs on four hits over seven innings.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
HOUSTON 3 – Cleveland 2… Chas McCormick knocked in all three Astros runs with a pair of homers and they hung on to edge the Guardians. He connected on the decisive blast to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning.

SEATTLE 6 – Boston 3… The Mariners doubled up on the Red Sox after spotting then a three-run lead after five innings. Julio Rodríguez singled home a tie-breaking run in the top of the seventh and came around to steal home. Cal Raleigh put Seattle on the board with a two-run homer in the sixth.

N.Y. YANKEES 7 – Tampa Bay 3… The Yankees came from two runs down after the first inning to roll past the Rays. Giancarlo Stanton blasted a three-run homer and singled home a run. Anthony Volpe homered with a runner aboard. Gerrit Cole (10-2) allowed two runs on four hits over seven innings.

TORONTO 4 – Baltimore 1… The Blue Jays used two bases-loaded hit-by-pitches and a fielding error to score three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and take the lead for good in the defeat of the Orioles. Brandon Belt had two of Toronto’s three hits and scored twice. Yusei Kikuchi (9-3) gave up a run on six hits over six innings.

TEXAS 11 – Chi. White Sox 1… Corey Seager and Josh Jung both hit two-run homers and drove in three runs to lead the Rangers in their shellacking of the White Sox. Marcus Semien also homered with a runner aboard. Dane Dunning (9-4) held Chicago to a run on three hits and struck out 11 over 7-2/3 innings.

INTERLEAGUE
ATLANTA 12 – L.A. Angels 5… Ronald Acuña Jr. opened the scoring with a three-run homer in the bottom of the third inning and finished with four runs scored as the Braves hammered the Angels. Austin Riley hit a two-run homer and Matt Olson made it back-to-back in the fourth. Ozzie Albies and Travis d’Arnaud drove in two runs apiece.

Detroit 6 – PITTSBURGH 3… Zack Short knocked in three runs with a single and a double to send the Tigers past the Pirates. Riley Greene and Jake Rogers contributed solo homers. Edward Rodriguez (7-5) allowed two runs on seven hits over six innings.

ST, LOUIS 7 – Minnesota 3… A barrage of power carried the Cardinals past the Twins. Tyler O’Neill, Jordan Walker and Lars Nootbaar hit home runs during a four-run bottom of the second inning. Alec Burleson added a three-run blast in the third. St. Louis starter Dakota Hudson (2-0) took a shutout into the seventh inning.

KANSAS CITY 4 – N.Y. Mets 0… Cole Ragans (3-3) scattered seven hits over six innings and two relievers shut the door in the Royals’ blanking of the Mets. Michael Massey provided all the offense Kansas City needed with a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning. Drew Waters homered with nobody on in the eighth.

L.A. DODGERS 10 – Oakland 1… The Dodgers scored seven unanswered runs in their first two at-bats and never looked back in their dismantling of the Athletics. Amed Rosario hit a two-run homer. Mookie Betts, Miguel Rojas and Jason Heyward added solo shots. Freddie Freeman went 3-for-4 with an RBI single. Tony Gonsolin (6-4) held Oakland to a run on five hits over five innings.
