George Warren Bell, 92, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at The Pines in Kirksville.
George is survived by his wife Dorothy of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Pamela Bell of Katy, TX; one daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Dennis Wilson of Novinger, MO; five brothers and three sisters-in-law, James and Irene Bell of Hesperia, CA, Gail and Debbie Bell of Linneus, MO, Dale and Tess Bell, and Kenny Bell all of Kirksville, MO and Ronnie Bell of Columbia, MO and two sisters, Ellen Bell of Lynn, MA and Laura and Darrell Durham of Kirksville, MO; five grandchildren, Heath (Brook) Wilson of Sand Springs, OK, Hayley (Derek) Rouse of Unionville, MO, Matthew (Lori) Bell of Katy, TX, Jennifer (Misael) Escobar of Katy, TX, and Heather (Ryan) Askew of Edmond, OK; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents Orval and Mary Trammel and 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with his grandson Matthew Bell presiding. Interment with military honors will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
The family has established an endowed scholarship fund in honor of George at Hope Harbor Children’s Home. An anonymous $25,000 matching grant has been provided and the family asks that all expressions of sympathy in memory of George be made to Hope Harbor Children’s Home, 15025 E. 380 Road, Claremore, OK 74017 or may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O.
