NATIONAL LEAGUE
St. Louis 8 – WASHINGTON 6… The Cardinals came from five runs down after two innings to upend the Nationals. Brandon Donovan belted a game-tying three-run homer in the top of the fifth inning. Paul Goldschmidt singled home a go-ahead run and homered.

Chi. Cubs 8 – PITTSBURGH 0… Drew Smyly (7-4) pitched three-hit ball over five innings and three Cubs relievers completed the shutout of the Pirates. Mike Tauchman had three hits and drove in three runs for Chicago.

CINCINNATI 5 – Colorado 4… Joey Votto homered to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning and delivered a go-ahead two-run single in the sixth to push the Reds past the Rockies. Kevin Newman homered to lead off the first.

Arizona 9 – MILWAUKEE 1… Alek Thomas homered with a runner aboard to cap a six-run top of the first inning and the Diamondbacks never looked back in their thrashing of the Brewers. Corbin Carroll also went deep for Arizona. Lourdes Gurriel contributed an RBI single. Merrill Kelly (9-3) gave up a run on three hits over seven innings.

SAN FRANCISCO 7 – San Diego 4 (10 innings)… Mike Yastrzemski’s second homer of the game was a three-run shot in the bottom of the 10th inning that gave the Giants a come-from-behind win over the Padres. Yastrzemski scored the tying run in the ninth on Patrick Bailey’s sacrifice fly. David Villar also homered for San Francisco.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
DETROIT 6 – Kansas City 4… The Tigers rallied past the Royals after spotting them a four-run lead. Jake Rogers stroked a two-run single and Kerry Carpenter blasted a three-run homer during five-run bottom of the seventh inning.

Boston 9 – MINNESOTA 3… Alex Verdugo’s bases-clearing triple broke a tie in the top of the sixth inning and the Red Sox put away the Twins. Verdugo added an RBI infield single in the eighth. Triston Casas homered with a runner aboard for Boston. Jarren Duran doubled home a pair of runs. James Paxton (3-1) allowed three runs on three hits over 6-1/3 innings.

Texas 5 – CHI. WHITE SOX 2… Andrew Heaney (5-4) held the White Sox to two runs on five hits over 5-2/3 innings and the Rangers cruised to the win. Josh Jung smacked a solo homer and Jonah Heim singled home two runs for Texas.

INTERLEAGUE
MIAMI 11 – Toronto 0… Luis Arraez went 5-for-5 in raising his average to .400 and knocked in a pair of runs to lead the Marlins in their dismantling of the Blue Jays. Jorge Soler hit a two-run homer and lifted a sacrifice fly. Five Miami pitchers combined on a seven-hitter.

N.Y. Mets 11 – HOUSTON 1… Francisco Lindor connected for a three-run homer and stroked a two-run double as the Mets pounded the Astros. Daniel Vogelbach drove in three runs with a solo homer and two-run single. Max Scherzer (6-2) allowed just a run on four hits over eight innings.
