Lloyd Earl Kinney was born in Kirksville, Missouri on May 8, 1936 and passed away May 31, 2023 at Northeast Regional Medical Center, with his son, David and grandson, Kade by his side.
Lloyd was the son of Virgil and Grace (Jackson) Kinney. He had two younger sisters who preceded him in death, Betty Lou (Kinney) Hawkins and Donna Marie Kinney. He attended Kirksville Schools until high school and then was employed with the shoe factory for a brief time. He then was employed with the McGraw-Edison factory and worked for them and all of their different owners for almost 54 years. He retired from Toastmaster in 2008. He met his wife, Betty, while working at McGraw’s and they were married on Christmas Eve 1956 in Greentop, Missouri. From this marriage came three sons. His wife and two of his sons, Frankie Lee Kinney and Danny Eugene Kinney, preceded Lloyd in death.
Lloyd is survived by one son, David Kinney and his wife Melissa of Kirksville, Missouri. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Katie Kinney of Trenton, Missouri, Kenton Kinney and fiancé, Alicia Davis of Kearney Missouri, Dr. Kade Kinney of Kirksville, Missouri, Haylee (Kinney) Snyder and husband Dakotta of Green Castle, Missouri, and Callyn Kinney of Kirksville, Missouri. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren Hudson Vance Snyder of Green Castle, Missouri and Kaisley June Kinney of Kearney, Missouri. Lloyd is survived by a daughter in law, Shani Kinney of Trenton, Missouri and a sister-in-law Debbie Atchley of Novinger, Missouri. Lloyd is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.
Public visitation will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home with Pat Turner presiding. Interment will follow the service at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.
