NATIONAL LEAGUE
COLORADO 11 – Cincinnati 6… The Rockies came alive to put up five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to erase a five-run deficit and scored six more times in the sixth to bury the Reds. Elias Diaz drove in three runs with a pair of singles. Brenton Doyle legged out a two-run triple, Jurickson Profar stroked a two-run double and Kris Bryant singled home two runs for Colorado.
SAN FRANCISCO 7 – Philadelphia 4… Thairo Estrada stroked a tie-breaking RBI single and Wilmer Flores singled home two more runs during a three-run bottom of the eighth inning that pushed the Giants past the Phillies. Casey Schmitt’s two-run single sparked a four-run first.
MIAMI 4 – Washington 3… Jorge Soler smacked a tie-breaking solo homer in the bottom of the fourth inning and Bryan De La Cruz’s RBI double in the sixth proved to be decisive as the Marlins edged the Nationals. Edward Cabrera (3-3) allowed two runs on five hits over five innings.
ST. LOUIS 3 – Milwaukee 0… Matthew Liberatore (1-0) tossed three-hit ball over five innings and three relievers did the rest in the Cardinals’ blanking of the Brewers. Nolan Arenado’s infield single in the bottom of the first inning scored Paul Goldschmidt with the only run St. Louis needed. Paul DeJong added a two-run homer in the sixth.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
BALTIMORE 3 – L.A. Angels 1… Cedric Mullins singled home a tying run in the bottom of the fourth inning and Austin Hayes homered with the bases empty in the fifth as the Orioles eased past the Angels. Kyle Bradish (2-1) gave up a run on four hits over 6-2/3 innings.
TORONTO 3 – N.Y. Yankees 0 ( 10 innings)… Danny Jansen cracked a three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning to break a scoreless tie and lift the Blue Jays over the Yankees. The game featured a duel between Toronto starter Chris Bassitt and his counterpart Gerrit Cole.
BOSTON 12 – Seattle 3… Pablo Reyes stroked a two-run double to cap a three-run bottom of the first inning and doubled home two runs during a six-run second as the Red Sox blew away the Mariners. Justin Turner went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer. Brayan Bello (3-1) surrendered a run on three hits over five innings.
CHI. WHITE SOX 7 – Cleveland 2… Andrew Vaughn smacked a tie-breaking leadoff homer and Jake Burger added a two-run blast in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the White Sox the lead for good in their pounding of the Guardians. Mike Clevinger (3-3) gave up two runs on six hits over six innings.
INTERLEAGUE
Pittsburgh 8 – DETROIT 0… Rich Hill (4-3) limited the Tigers to one hit over six innings and three Pirates relievers held them hitless the rest of the way in the shutout win. Austin Hedges drove in three runs with a double and a single. Rodolfo Castro homered with the bases empty and singled home a run.
L.A. DODGERS 7 – Minnesota 3… James Outman’s grand slam capped a five-run bottom of the seventh inning that carried the Dodgers past the Twins. L.A. starter Dustin May left after the first inning with elbow pain but was picked up by five relievers.
Arizona 5 – OAKLAND 3… Jose Herrera lifted a tie-breaking sacrifice fly and Ketel Marte singled home a run in the top of the ninth inning as the Diamondbacks scratched out a win over the Athletics. Corbin Carroll hit a two-run homer for Arizona.
Kansas City 4 – SAN DIEGO 3… Vinnie Pasquantino drilled a tie-breaking two-run homer and Maikel Garcia doubled home a run in the top of the sixth inning as the Royals topped the Padres in the rubber game of the series. MJ Melendez also had an RBI single for Kansas City.
N.Y. METS 8 – Tampa Bay 7 (10 innings)… Pete Alonso cracked a three-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Mets a come-from-behind, walkoff win over the Rays. Francisco Alvarez tied the game with a ninth-inning homer. Mark Vientos’ two-run homer in the seventh put New York on the board.
Atlanta 6 – TEXAS 5… The Braves rallied from two runs down after seven innings to upend the Rangers. Orlando Arcia connected for a tie-breaking solo homer in the top of the ninth inning. Oscar Albies singled home a run and scored the tying run on Austin Riley’s single in the eighth. Eddie Rosario homered with a runner aboard and Ronald Acuña added a solo shot for Atlanta.
HOUSTON 7 – Chi. Cubs 6… The Astros rallied from five runs down after seven innings to stun the Cubs. Wil Meyers hit a two-run and Kyle Tucker added a walkoff two-run single as the Astros scored four times in the bottom of the ninth. Alex Bregman doubled home a run and scored on Jose Abreu’s single in the eighth. Bregman also homered with the bases empty in the first.
