NATIONAL LEAGUE
MIAMI 5 – Washington 4… Jorge Soler’s walkoff two-run homer capped a three-run bottom of the ninth inning that lifted the Marlins over the Nationals. Luis Arraez had a couple of hits, including an RBI single.
Milwaukee 3 – ST. LOUIS 2… Joey Wiemer drilled a game-tying homer in the bottom of the fifth inning and Brian Anderson added a decisive solo shot in the sixth as the Brewers held off the Cardinals. Six Milwaukee pitchers scattered seven hits.
Cincinnati 3 – COLORADO 1… Nick Senzel put the Reds on the board with a go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning and the held on to down the Rockies. Matt McLain added a run-scoring single in the eighth. Brandon Williamson (1-0) surrendered a run on two hits over 5-2/3 innings to win his major league debut.
SAN FRANCISCO 4 – Philadelphia 3… Joey Bart doubled home a run and scored on LaMont Wade Jr.’s single in the fourth, and the Giants held off the Phillies. Thairo Estrada and Michael conforto produced run-scoring singles in the first.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
BALTIMORE 7 – L.A. Angels 3… Ryan O’Hearn smacked a solo homer and his replacement Ryan Mountcastle added a two-run shot as the Orioles topped the Angels. Jorge Mateo singled home a run and lifted a sacrifice fly.
N.Y. Yankees 6 – TORONTO 3… Aaron Judge blasted a tie-breaking two-run homer in the top of the eighth inning and Gleyber Torres added his second RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly in the ninth to push the Yankees past the Blue Jays. New York starter Domingo Germán was ejected for a foreign substance on his and after pitching three spotless innings.
BOSTON 9 – Seattle 4… Justin Turner connected for a two-run homer and the Red Sox got solo shots from Jarren Duran and Triston Casas in their pounding of the Mariners. Duran also singled home a run. Masataka Yoshida had a couple of hits and knocked in three runs.
CHI. WHITE SOX 8 – Cleveland 3… Gavin Sheets blasted a three-run homer and Jake Burger added a two-run shot during a six-run bottom of the fifth inning and the White Sox coasted past the Guardians. Luis Robert Jr. also went deep for Chicago. Lance Lynn (2-5) gave up a run on seven hits over seven innings.
INTERLEAGUE
DETROIT 4 – Pittsburgh 0… Michael Lorenzen (2-2) tossed five-hit ball over six innings and two Tigers relievers completed the shutout of the Pirates. Javier Báez singled home the game’s first run in the bottom of the first inning and scored on Spencer Torkelson’s double.
Tampa Bay 8 – N.Y. METS 5… Isaac Paredes homered twice and drove in five runs to lead the Rays past the Mets. Jose Siri added a solo shot. Harold Ramirez went 3-for-5 with two RBIs.
TEXAS 7 – Atlanta 4… Adolis Garcia smacked a tie-breaking two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth inning and the Rangers cruised past the Braves. Ezequiel Duran also went deep. Dean Dunning (4-0) gave up a run on six hits over six innings.
HOUSTON 7 – Chi. Cubs 3… Yordan Alvarez doubled home a run a tie-breaking run and scored to spark a four-run bottom of the fourth inning that carried the Astros past the Cubs. Cristian Javier (4-1) allowed just a run on two hits over six innings.
Kansas City 5 – SAN DIEGO 4… Salvador Perez lined a two-run double as the Royals scored all five runs in the top of the second inning and held off the Padres. Brady Singer (3-4) gave up two runs on seven hits over six innings.
Minnesota 5 – L.A. DODGERS 1… Kyle Farmer singled home a run and homered in leading the Twins past the Dodgers. Bailey Ober (3-0) allowed a run on six hits over six innings.
OAKLAND 9 – Arizona 8 (12 innings)… Esteury Ruiz singled home with the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning as the Athletics outlasted the Diamondbacks. Ryan Noda unloaded a game-tying grand slam in the seventh. Nick Allen and Ramon Laureano hit solo homers for Oakland.
