NATIONAL LEAGUE
PITTSBURGH 2 – Colorado 0… Rodolfo Castro’s two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning provided all the offense the Pirates needed in their win over the Rockies. Mitch Keller (4-1) tossed a complete-game four-hitter.

MILWAUKEE 9 – L.A. Dodgers 3… Joey Wiemer cracked a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a scoreless tie and Willy Adames added a three-run shot to cap a six-run seventh in the Brewers’ pounding of the Dodgers. Christian Yelich contributed a two-run single. Freddy Peralta (4-2) allowed a run on three hits over six innings.

St. Louis 3 – CHI. CUBS 1… Willson Contreras doubled in a tie-breaking run in the top of the sixth inning and added a run-scoring grounder in the eighth to push the Cardinals past the Cubs. Five St. Louis pitchers combined on a five-hitter.

ARIZONA 5 – Miami 2… Christian Walker doubled home a run and hit a solo homer in leading the Diamondbacks past the Marlins. Pavin Smith had a couple of hits, including an RBI single. Zac Gallen (5-1) surrendered a run on five hits over seven innings.

Washington 5 – SAN FRANCISCO 1… CJ Abrams’ two-run single capped a five-run rally as the Nationals did all their scoring in the top of the first inning and coasted past the Giants. Jake Irvin (1-0) pitched four-hit ball over 6-1/3 scoreless innings to record his first major league victory.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Detroit 6 – CLEVELAND 2… Riley Greene drove in two runs with a single and a double, Andy Ibañez homered and the Tigers breezed past the Guardians. Joey Wentz (1-3) gave up two runs on three hits over 5-2/3 innings.

Tampa Bay 3 – BALTIMORE 0… Shane McClanahan (7-0) pitched four-hit ball over six innings and three Rays relievers completed the shutout of the Orioles. Josh Lowe and Luke Raley hit solo homers for Tampa Bay.

N.Y. YANKEES 7 – Oakland 2… Gleyber Torres cracked a tie-breaking solo homer and DJ LeMahieu added a two-run blast during a three-run bottom of the sixth inning as the Yankees put away the Athletics. Oswaldo Cabrera and Aaron Hicks added two-run homers.

KANSAS CITY 12 – Chi. White Sox 5… Michael Massey’s tie-breaking RBI sparked an eight-run bottom of the sixth inning that carried the Royals past the White Sox. Nick Pratto capped the uprising with a bases-clearing double. MJ Melendez hit a two-run homer and singled home a pair of runs.

L.A. ANGELS 6 – Houston 4… Brandon Drury tripled home a tie-breaking run and scored in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Angels topped the Astros. Shohei Ohtani’s second RBI double tied the game in the fifth.

Texas 2 – SEATTLE 1… Josh Jung lifted a sacrifice fly and Jonah Heim singled home a run in the top of the seventh inning and the Rangers hung on to edge the Mariners. Jon Gray (2-1) gave up a run on four hits over seven innings.
