WASHINGTON 4 – Chi. Cubs 3… Alex Call’s leadoff homer in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Nationals over the Cubs after Washington blew a three-run eighth-inning lead. Lane Thomas belted a three-run homer in the second.
COLORADO 9 – Milwaukee 6… Ezequiel Tovar doubled home two runs and scored during a four-run bottom of the seventh inning and Charlie Blackmon’s two-run single capped a five-run eighth as the Rockies rallied past the Brewers. Harold Castro ripped a tie-breaking two-run single.
Atlanta 6 – MIAMI 3… The Braves doubled up on the Marlins to complete a three-game sweep. Marcell Ozuna and Matt Olson hit solo homers. Ronald Acuña stroked a tie-breaking RBI single.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
Baltimore 13 – KANSAS CITY 10… The Orioles recovered the beat the Royals after blowing a seven-run lead. Ramon Urias lined a two-run single in the top of the eighth inning and added a two-run double to spark a three-run ninth. Anthony Santander and Gunnar Henderson hit two-run homers. Cedric Mullins cleared the bases with a double.
Minnesota 7 – CHI. WHITE SOX 3 (12 innings)… Jorge Polanco’s two-run single capped a five-run top of the 12th inning that carried the Twins past the White Sox. Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton smacked solo homers.
Seattle 5 – OAKLAND 3… Taylor Trammell drilled a two-run homer and drew a bases-loaded walk to lead the Mariners past the Athletics. Kolten Wong knocked in Seattle’s other two runs with a single in the top of the fourth inning.
BOSTON 11 – Toronto 5… The Red Sox pounded the Blue Jays to complete a four-game sweep and run their winning streak to six games. Rafael Devers went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and a two-run double. Masataka Yoshida had three hits, including a solo homer and two RBI singles.
INTERLEAGUE
DETROIT 2 – N.Y. Mets 0… Eduardo Rodriguez (3-2) pitched two-hit ball over eight innings and reliever Alex Lange did the rest in the Tigers’ blanking of the Mets. Riley Greene and Javier Báez provided the game’s only offense with back-to-back solo homer in the bottom of the first inning off tough-luck loser Justin Verlander (0-1).
TAMPA BAY 3 – Pittsburgh 2… The Rays took a three-run lead into the top of the ninth and hung on to edge the Pirates and finish off a series sweep. Taylor Walls, Randy Arozarena and Yandy Díaz hit solo homers. Zach Eflin (4-0) limited Pittsburgh to three hits and struck out 10 over seven innings.
L.A. Angels 11 – ST. LOUIS 7… Luis Rengifo went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and a sacrifice fly in leading the Angels past the Cardinals. Matt Thaiss went 3-for-5 with a pair of run-scoring singles. Zach Neto added a two-run single.
