NATIONAL LEAGUE
Atlanta 6 – MIAMI 0… Bryce Elder (3-0) pitched three-hit ball over seven innings and two Braves relievers completed the shutout of the Marlins. Ozzie Albies had a couple of hits, including a solo homer, for Atlanta.
WASHINGTON 4 – Chi. Cubs 1… CJ Abrams singled home a tie-breaking run and Alex Call followed with a two-run double as the Nationals scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to put away the Cubs. Starter Trevor Williams tossed 5-1/3 scoreless innings but the win went to reliever Hunter Harvey (1-0).
COLORADO 3 – Milwaukee 2… Elias Díaz homered in the bottom of the fourth inning and singled home Yonathan Daza with the decisive run in the eighth to push the Rockies past the Brewers. Ezeqiel Toval also homered for Colorado.
Cincinnati 2 – SAN DIEGO 1… Jonathan India singled home Matt Reynolds with a tie-breaking run in the bottom of the 10th inning and the Reds made it stand in outlasting the Padres. Jake Fraley came through with a game-tying RBI single in the eighth.
L.A. DODGERS 13 – Philadelphia 1… Mookie Betts went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, Freddie Freeman homered with a runner aboard and the Dodgers pounded the Phllies for a second straight night. Chris Taylor hit a solo homer and doubled home a run. Julio Urías (4-3) allowed just a Trea Turner homer and struck out 10 over seven innings. Two relievers shut the door.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
N.Y. YANKEES 4 – Cleveland 2… The Yankees overcame an early two-run deficit to top the Guardians and stop a four-game skid. Willie Calhoun smacked a tie-breaking solo homer in the bottom of the seven inning. Anthony Volpe also went deep for New York.
CHI. WHITE SOX 3 – Minnesota 2 (10 innings)… Anthony Benintendi singled home Hanser Alberto with the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as the White Sox outlasted the Twins. Eloy Jiménez homered with a runner aboard in the seventh.
BOSTON 7 – Toronto 6… The Red Sox rallied from three runs down to upend the Blue Jays. Connor Wong hit a tying solo homer in the bottom of the sixth inning and his base-loaded blast in the eighth proved to be the difference. Christian Arroyo and Masataka Yoshida also hit solo homers for Boston.
Baltimore 11 – KANSAS CITY 7… Ryan Mountcastle belted a pair of two-run homers and knocked in five runs to power the Orioles past the Royals. Adley Rutschman went 4-for-5 with an RBI double and three runs scored.
Seattle 2 – OAKLAND 1… A.J. Pollock hit a game-tying homer and Jarred Kelenic doubled home a run in the top of the eighth inning as the Mariners squeaked past the Athletics. Seattle was held hitless through seven innings by Oakland starter Mason Miller.
INTERLEAGUE
TAMPA BAY 4 – Pittsburgh 1… Harold Ramirez singled home a run and homered to provide all the offense the Rays needed in their win over the Pirates. Seven Tampa Bay pitchers held Pittsburgh to five hits.
L.A. Angels 5 – ST. LOUIS 1… Taylor Ward’s three-run homer capped a four-run top of the first inning and the Angels cruised past the Cardinals. Patrick Sandoval (3-1) allowed a run on three hits over five innings.
TEXAS 6 – Arizona 4… The Rangers erased a three-run deficit in fighting their way past the Diamondbacks. Ezequiel Duran connected for a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning. Marcus Semien had a couple of hits, including an RBI single.
San Francisco 2 – HOUSTON 0… Giants starter Anthony DeSclafani (3-1) limited the Astros to three hits over eight inning and reliever Camilo Doval completed the shutout. Joc Pederson singled home a run in the top of the first inning and scored on Blake Sabol’s double in the fourth.
N.Y. Mets – DETROIT… Rain in Detroit forced postponement of last night’s Mets-Tigers game. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader today.
