NATIONAL LEAGUE
ATLANTA 11 – Miami 0… Spencer Strider (3-0) took a no-hitter into the eighth inning and got plenty of support in the Braves’ drubbing of the Marlins. Sam Hilliard hit two of Atlanta’s five homers and drove in three runs. Sean Murphy, Eddie Rosario and Austin Riley also went deep.
SAN FRANCISCO 4 – St. Louis 0… Giants starter Alex Cobb (1-1) tossed a complete-game six-hit shutout in blanking the Cardinals. Mitch Hanigar lifted a sacrifice fly and JD Davis followed with a three-run homer as San Francisco scored all four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
BALTIMORE 5 – Boston 4… The Orioles came from four runs down to edge the Red Sox. Austin Hays singled home Jorge Mateo with the decisive run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Ramon Urias stroked a two-run double.
TAMPA BAY 8 – Houston 3… The Rays set a modern MLB record in downing the Astros for their 14th straight win at home to start the season. Jordan Lowe’s infield single scored Wander Franco with a go-ahead run and Christian Bethancourt lined a two-run single during a four-run bottom of the third inning.
TORONTO 5 – Chi. White Sox 2… Cavan Biggio belted a three-run homer to cap a four-run bottom of the fourth inning that gave the Blue Jays the lead for good in their win over the White Sox. Chris Bassitt (3-2) allowed two runs on three hits over 6-1/3 innings.
MINNESOTA 6 – N.Y. Yankees 1… Sonny Gray (3-0) pitched three-hit ball over seven scoreless innings and the Twins breezed past the Yankees. Jorge Polanco singled, doubled and drove in three runs.
Oakland 11 – L.A. ANGELS 10 (10 innings)… Ryan Noda lined a two-run double and scored on Tony Kemp’s single in the top of the 10th inning and the Athletics held on in the bottom half to outlast the Angels. Brent Rooker homered twice and knocked in three runs. Jesus Aguilar added a pair of solo shots. Kevin Smith added a three-run shot.
INTERLEAGUE
Colorado 6 – CLEVELAND 0… Austin Gomber (1-4) held the Guardians to three hits over five innings and three Rockies relievers completed the shutout. Jurickson Profar homered in the top of the first inning and singled home two runs.
CINCINNATI 7 – Texas 6… TJ Friedl singled home Jonathan India in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Reds a walkoff win over the Rangers. Henry Ramos and Nick Senzel drew bases-loaded walks in the eighth. Spencer Steer legged out a two-run triple.
Detroit 4 – MILWAUKEE 2… Nick Maton connected for a three-run homer in the top of the third inning and the Tigers held off the Brewers. Matthew Boyd (1-1) allowed two runs on five hits over five innings.
ARIZONA 5 – Kansas City 4… Nick Ahmed’s infield grounder scored Christian Walker with a tie-breaking run in the bottom of the eighth inning and the Diamondbacks made it stand in their win over the Royals. Pavin Smith went 2-for-3 with an RBI single.
