PITTSBURGH 4 – Cincinnati 3… Connor Joe blasted a three-run homer and Jack Suwinski followed with a solo shot as the Pirates scored all four runs in the bottom of the first inning and held off the Reds. Roansy Contreras (2-1) allowed a urn on five hits over 6-2/3 innings.

Colorado 5 – PHILADELPHIA 0… Ryan Feltner (1-2) pitched three-hit ball over 5-2/3 innings and two Rockies relievers completed the shutout of the Phillies. C.J. Cron provided all the offense Colorado needed with a two-run homer in the top of the first inning.

L.A. Dodgers 6 – CHI. CUBS 2… James Outman homered with the bases empty and unloaded a tie-breaking grand slam in the top of the ninth inning to power the Dodgers past the Cubs. Max Muncy also went deep for Los Angeles.

San Diego 7 – ARIZONA 5… Trent Grisham’s second two-run double of the game broke a tie in the top of the sixth inning and the Padres held on to down the Diamondbacks. Xavier Bogaerts homered with a runner aboard and Matt Carpenter added a solo shot for San Diego.

N.Y. Mets 9 – SAN FRANCISCO 4… Pete Alonso connected for his ninth homer with a runner aboard and singled home two runs as the Mets ripped the Giants. Eduardo Escobar added a two-run homer. Jeff McNeil hit a solo homer and produced a run-scoring single.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
BOSTON 11 – Minnesota 5… The Red Sox came up with six runs in the top of the third inning on their way past the Twins. Jarren Duran drove in three runs with a double and a sacrifice fly. Yu Chang homered with a runner aboard. Alex Verdugo also went deep.

N.Y. YANKEES 9 – L.A. Angels 3… Jose Trevino’s bases-clearing double capped a five-run bottom of the first inning and the Yankees never looked back in their pounding of the Angels. Oswald Peraza and Isiah Kiner-Falefa knocked in two runs apiece.
