Lois Marie Otte

Lois Marie Otte, 78, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Monday morning, April 17, 2023, at the LaBelle Manor in LaBelle, Missouri.

Lois was born on June 30, 1944, near Colony, Missouri, the daughter of Herman and Elsie Snyder.

She attended the Colony Schools before graduating from the Knox City High School Class of 1952 and resided in the Colony and Rutledge area most of her life.

She began working, in 1965, as a glove sewer at the Burnham Manufacturing and later the Edina Manufacturing in Edina, Missouri. She also worked as a cook at the Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri, before retiring in 2011.

Lois married Earl Ray Benstine and to this union one son was born. On July 1, 1995, in Rutledge, Missouri, Lois married Lyle Arthur Otte and they celebrated more than 25 years together.

She was a member of the Colony Methodist Church in Colony, Missouri until it closed and she moved her membership to the New Testament Church in Rutledge, Missouri. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, jig saw puzzles and taking care of Lyle.

Lois is survived by her husband, Lyle Otte of Edina, Missouri; her son, Lanny Dale Benstine of Edina, Missouri; a sister, Lila Frances O’Malley of LaBelle, Missouri; a granddaughter, Laura Ann and a great granddaughter; along with numerous cousins and a host friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Elsie Snyder; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth O’Malley.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20. 2023, at the New Testament Church in Rutledge, Missouri with Pastor Jim Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will be in the Colony Cemetery in Colony, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
