NATIONAL LEAGUE
CINCINNATI 6 – Philadelphia 2… Spencer Steer, Tyler Stephenson and Wil Myers stroked RBI singles during a three-run bottom of the third inning that gave the Reds the lead for good in their win over the Phillies. Myers added a two-run single in the fifth. Nick Lodolo (2-0) gave up two runs on six hits over five innings.

Pittsburgh 5 – ST. LOUIS 0… Vince Velasquez (1-2) pitched three-hit ball over six innings and got help from three Pirates relievers in the shutout of the Cardinals. Carlos Santana’s RBI double broke a scoreless tie in the top of the sixth inning. Connor Joe and Rodolfo Castro hit solo homers.

Milwaukee 4 – SAN DIEGO 3 (10 innings)… Rowdy Tellez homered with a runner aboard in the top of the first inning and his sacrifice fly in the 10th scored Christian Yelich with the decisive run in the Brewers’ win over the Padres. Mike Broussard added a solo homer for Milwaukee.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
BALTIMORE 8 – Oakland 7… Adley Rutschman’s solo homer in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Orioles a walk-off win over the Athletics. Ryan O’Hearn stroked a two-run single and lifted a sacrifice fly.

TAMPA BAY 9 – Boston 3… The Rays buried the Red Sox with a seven-run bottom of the fifth ending and remain unbeaten after 13 games this season. They tied Major League Baseball’s post-1900 record for consecutive wins at a season’s start set by the 1982 Atlanta Braves and the 1987 Milwaukee Brewers. Harold Ramirez had three hits including a bases-clearing double. Yandy Diaz and Brandon Lowe homered for Tampa Bay.

Minnesota 11 – N.Y. YANKEES 2… The Twins opened with a nine-run top of the first inning and never looked back in their thrashing of the Yankees. Michael A. Taylor connected for a pair of two-run homers. Carlos Correa and Edouard Julien also went deep.

Detroit 3 – TORONTO 1… The Tigers grinded out a win over the Blue Jays and snapped a six-game skid. Zach McKinstry doubled home a tie-breaking run in the top of the inning. Jake Rogers added an RBI double in the eighth.
