NATIONAL LEAGUE
Miami 8 – PHILADELPHIA 4… Luis Arráez went 4-for-5 with a solo homer and run-scoring single as the Marlins doubled up on the Phillies. Jon Berti also homered and singled home a run. Jorge Soler added a solo shot.

San Diego 4 – N.Y. METS 2… Manny Machado stroked a go-ahead two-run double in the top of the fifth inning and added a two-run homer in the ninth as the Padres topped the Mets. Ryan Weathers (1-0) surrendered just a run on three hits over five innings.

ATLANTA 7 – Cincinnati 6… Ozzie Albies hit a tie-breaking two-run homer and Sam Hilliard doubled home a run in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Braves fought off the Reds. Matt Olson also homered for Atlanta. Orlando Arcia knocked in two runs.

St. Louis 9 – COLORADO 6… The Cardinals rallied from four runs down after six innings to beat the Rockies. Nolan Arenado tied the game with a three-run double in the top of the eighth inning. Nolan Gorman hit a go-ahead homer and St. Louis RBI singles from Paul Goldschmidt and Tyler O’Neill in the ninth. Tommy Edman and Juan Yepez also homered for the Redbirds.

Milwaukee 7 – ARIZONA 1… Mike Brousseau lined a two-run double and homered with the bases empty to lead the Brewers in their thrashing of the Diamondbacks. Willy Adames and Rowdy Tellez also went deep. Corbin Burnes (1-1) pitched three-hit ball over eight scoreless innings.

SAN FRANCISCO 5 – L.A. Dodgers 0… Alex Wood went the first 4-2/3 innings and five Giants relievers did the rest in the shut out of the Dodgers. Joc Pederson provided all the offense San Francisco needed with a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning. Jonathan Villar hit a two-run homer and Brandon Crawford added a solo shot in the eighth.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
N.Y. Yankees 11 – CLEVELAND 2… The Yankees rolled past the Guardians after spotting them a two-run first-inning lead. Franchy Cordero blasted a three-run homer. Anthony Rizzo stroke a pair of run-scoring singles.

TAMPA BAY 7 – Boston 2… The Rays got solo homers from Isaac Paredes, Yandy Díaz, Brandon Lowe and Josh Lowe in downing the Red Sox and running their record to 11-0 on the season. Shane McClanahan (3-0) allowed a run on two hits over five innings.

BALTIMORE 12 – Oakland 8… The Orioles erased a four-run, fifth-inning deficit to top the Athletics. Ryan Mountcastle blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning and unloaded a grand slam to cap a five-run seventh inning. Austin Hays homered and singled home a tying run.

TORONTO 9 – Detroit 3… Solo homers by Kevin Kiermaier and George Springer in the bottom of the fifth inning and they added a five-run eighth to bury the Tigers. Bo Bichette and Matt Chapman also homered with the bases empty. Alejandro Kirk connected for a three-run shot.

MINNESOTA 4 – Chi. White Sox  (10 innings)… A throwing error by Chicago third-baseman Hanser Alberto in the bottom of the 10th inning allowed automatic runner Willi Castro to score the winning run in the Twins’ win over the White Sox. Byron Buxton hit a two-run hoer and Michael A. Taylor added a solo shot for Minnesota.

TEXAS 8 – Kansas City 5… Jonah Heim’s three-run homer capped a four-run bottom of the 10th inning that carried the Rangers past the Royals. Adolis Garcia drove in two runs for Texas.

INTERLEAGUE
PITTSBURGH 7 – Houston 4… Ji Hwan Bae came through with a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Pirates a walkoff win over the Astros after Pittsburgh blew a two-run lead in the top half. Jack Suwinski homered with a runner aboard and Ji Man Choi added a solo shot for the Bucs.

CHI. CUBS 14 – Seattle 9… The Cubs overcame an early seven-run deficit to upend the Mariners. Nelson Velázquez cracked a grand slam to highlight an eight-run bottom of the third inning. Trey Mancini contributed a two-run shot. Dansby Swanson went 4-for-4 and knocked in two runs.

L.A. ANGELS 2 – Washington 0… Shohei Ohtani (2-0) allowed the Nationals’ only hit in a strong seven-inning effort and two Angels relievers completed the shutout. Anthony Rendon lifted a sacrifice fly and Logan O’Hoppe homered for L.A.
