PHILADELPHIA 15 – Miami 3… Alec Bohm had three hits, including a three-run homer, and drove in six runs to lead the Phillies past the Marlins. Nick Castellanos added three hits and three RBIs. Brandon Marsh hit a solo homer and doubled home two runs. Jake Cave also went deep.
N.Y. METS 5 – San Diego 0… Max Scherzer (2-1) limited the Padres to one hit over five innings and four relievers completed the shutout. Jeff McNeil and Francisco Lindor stroked two-run doubles for New York.
ATLANTA 5 – Cincinnati 4 (10 innings)… The Braves recovered to down the Reds after blowing a two-run lead in the ninth inning. Sean Murphy doubled home a run and hit a walkoff two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning. Orlando Arcia singled home a run and scored on a wild pitch.
COLORADO 7 – St. Louis 4… Alan Trejo went 3-for-4 with a pair of run-scoring singles and the Rockies topped the Cardinals. German Márquez (2-1) surrendered two runs on three hits over five innings.
ARIZONA 3 – Milwaukee 0… Zac Gallen (1-1) pitched three-hit ball and struck out 11 over seven innings before two Diamondbacks relievers finished off the blanking of the Brewers. Josh Rojas singled home a run and Christian Walker hit a two-run homer for Arizona.
L.A. Dodgers 9 – SAN FRANCISCO 1… Max Muncy hit a grand slam and a thee-run homer to lead the Dodgers in their pounding of the Giants. Mookie Betts homered with the bases empty and singled home a run. Julio Urías (3-0) allowed a run on four hits over six innings.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
Chi. White Sox 4 – MINNESOTA 3… Hanser Alberto cracked a three-run homer as the White Sox scored all four runs in the top of the fourth inning and held off the Twins. Dylan Cease (2-0) allowed just a run on three hits over five innings.
CLEVELAND 3 – N.Y. Yankees 2… The Guardians eased past the Yankees after spotting them a two-run first-inning lead. Josh Naylor lifted a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Steven Kwan with the decisive run. Mike Zunino singled home a tying run in the fourth.
BALTIMORE 5 – Oakland 1… Kyle Gibson (3-0) held the Athletics to a run on three hits over 6-1/3 innings and the Orioles cruised to the win. Ryan Mountcastle hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning. Adley Rutschman and Austin Hays added solo shots.
TAMPA BAY 1 – Boston 0… The Rays squeaked past the Red Sox to become the first team since the 1987 Milwaukee Brewers to open the season with 10 straight wins. Brandon Lowe’s homer in the bottom of the eighth inning provided the game’s only offense. Five Tampa Bay pitchers combined on a three-hitter.
TEXAS 11 – Kansas City 2… Adolis García unloaded a grand slam to cap a seven-run bottom of the sixth as the Rangers buried the Royals. Corey Seager and Jonah Heim also went deep for Texas. Andrew Heaney (1-1) pitched two-hit ball over five scoreless innings.
INTERLEAGUE
Houston 8 – PITTSBURGH 2… Kyle Tucker knocked in three runs with a pair of singles and the Astros handled the Pirates. Yordan Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a two-run single. Framber Valdez (1-1) gave up two runs on three hits over seven innings.
CHI. CUBS 3 – Seattle 2 (10 innings)… Eric Hosmer’s second RBI single of the game scored Nick Madrigal in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Cubs over the Mariners. Cody Bellinger doubled home a run and scored in the fourth.
Washington 6 – L.A. ANGELS 4… The Nationals came from three runs down to beat the Angels. Jeimer Candelario tied the game with a two-run single during a three-run top of the fourth inning.
