NATIONAL LEAGUE
Atlanta 7 – WASHINGTON 2… Travis D’Arnaud had four hits, including a two-run double, in the Braves’ win over the Nationals. Max Fried and five relievers held Washington at bay.
CHI. CUBS 4 – Milwaukee 0… Marcus Stroman pitched five-hit ball over six innings and three relievers did the rest as the Cubs blanked the Brewers. Dansby Swanson went 3-for-4 with an RBI.
N.Y. Mets 5 – MIAMI 3… Brendon Nimmo’s tie-breaking two-run double in the top of the seventh inning pushed the Mets past the Marlins. Max Scherzer pitched five scoreless innings before surrendering all three Miami runs in the sixth.
Pittsburgh 5 – CINCINNATI 4… Oneil Cruz’s sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning scored Ji Hwan Bae with a tie-breaking run and the Pirates made it stand in edging the Reds. Cruz also homered with the bases empty and scored on a wild pitch.
Colorado 7 – SAN DIEGO 2… The Rockies pounded out 17 hits in their thrashing of the Padres. C.J. Cron went 4-for-5 with a pair of homers and five RBIs. Starter German Marquez allowed two runs on five hits over six innings.
L.A. DODGERS 8 – Arizona 2… The Dodgers rolled past the Diamondbacks after spotting them an early two-run lead. James Outman hit a two-run homer. Will Smith produced a pair of run-scoring singles. Julio Urias surrendered two runs on four hits over six innings.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
Baltimore 10 – BOSTON 9… Adley Rutschman went 5-for-5 with a homer and four RBIs as the Orioles outslugged the Red Sox. Ramon Urías homered with a runner aboard for Baltimore.
TAMPA BAY 4 – Detroit 0… Shane McClanahan pitched four-hit ball over six innings and three Rays relievers completed the shutout of the Tigers. Wander Franco and Jose Siri hit solo homers for Tampa Bay.
Minnesota 2 – KANSAS CITY 0… Pablo Lopez limited the Royals to two his over 5-1/3 innings and four Twins relievers blanked them the rest of the way. Trevor Larnash and pinch-hitter Donovan Solano produced run-scoring singles in the top of the sixth inning to account for the game’s only offense.
Chi. White Sox 3 – HOUSTON 2… Andrew Vaughn delivered a tie-breaking two-run double in the top of the ninth inning and the White Sox hung on to edge the Astros. Yasmani Grandal connected for a game-tying homer in the eighth.
OAKLAND 2 – L.A. Angels 1… Tony Kemp doubled home a run and scored in Diaz’s single in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Athletics squeezed past the Angels. L.A. starter Shohei Ohtani pitched two-hit ball and fanned 10 over six innings.
SEATTLE 3 – Cleveland 0… Ty France connected for a three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to power the Mariners past the Guardians. Seattle starter Luis Castillo gave up just one hit over six innings and three relievers preserved the shutout.
INTERLEAGUE
N.Y. YANKEES 5 – San Francisco 0… Gerrit Cole pitched three-hit ball over innings and struck out 11 before three relievers shut the door in the Yankees’ blanking of the Giants. Aaron Judge’s first-inning homer provided the only run New York needed. Greyber Torres added a two-run blast in the fourth.
TEXAS 11 – Philadelphia 7… The Rangers erupted to score nine runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to erase a 5-0 deficit and blow past the Phillies. Robbie Grossman belted a three-run homer. Brad Miller added a two-run shot.
Toronto 10 – ST. LOUIS 9… George Springer singled home a tying run and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. added a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to rally the Blue Jays past the Cardinals. Springer went 5-for-6 and scored four runs on the day. Guerrero also cracked a two-run single.
