Blues Beat Canucks

ST. LOUIS 6 – Vancouver 5 (OT)… The Blues recovered to outlast the Canucks after blowing a three-goal lead late in the second period. Jakob Vrana’s second goal of the game won it 28 seconds into overtime.

 

Nashville 2 – BOSTON 1… Cody Glass broke a scoreless tie with 1:49 left in the second period and Cole Smith’s empty-netter proved to the be difference in the Predators’ win over the Bruins. Goalie Juuse Saros made 35 saves and came within 2 seconds of a shutout.

Tampa Bay 4 – CAROLINA 0… Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped all 31 shots in shutting out the Hurricanes. Brayden Point scored two goals and assisted on another. Steven Stamkos added a goal and two assists.

DETROIT 7 – Pittsburgh 4… David Perron scored three goals during a four-goal third period that carried the Red Wings past the Penguins. Detroit jumped out to a three-goal lead after the first period but Pittsburgh responded with a three-goal second.

N.Y. RANGERS 6 – Columbus 2… Filip Chytil scored the first of three straight goals in the first period that gave the Rangers the lead for good in their win over the Blue Jackets. Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad each had a goal and an assist. Igor Shesterkin made 28 saves at goal.

PHILADELPHIA 3 – Montreal 2… Morgan Frost scored two goals and Owen Tippett added an empty-netter to push the Flyers past the Canadiens. Goalie Felix Sandstrom stopped 27 shots.

Dallas 4 – CHICAGO 1… First-period goals by Tyler Seguin provided all the offense the Stars needed to put away the Blackhawks. Goalie Jake Oettinger faced only 18 shots.

CALGARY 2 – Los Angeles 1… Walker Duehr scored a tie-breaking goal late in the first period and the Flames made it stand in their defeat of the Kings. Andrew Mangiapane opened the scoring earlier in the period with a power-play goal. Jacob Markstrom made 32 saves at goal.

Edmonton 7 – VEGAS 4… Seven different players found the net as the Oilers outshot the Golden Knights. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had a goal and four assists. Connor McDavid set up three goals.

SAN JOSE 2 – Winnipeg 0… Sharks goalie James Reimer piled up 41 saves in blanking the Jets. Noah Gregor and Kevin Lebanc scored for San Jose.
