LOS ANGELES 7 – St. Louis 6… Viktor Arvidsson found the net twice during a five-goal first period and the Kings scored twice more in the third to put away the Blues. Drew Doughty’s power-play goal with 11:10 remaining proved to be the difference. Adrien Kempe also netted two goals for Los Angeles. Philip Danault had three assists.
Colorado 4 – ARIZONA 3 (SO)… The Avalanche recovered to outlast the Coyotes after blowing a two-goal third-period lead. Valeri Nichushkin scored on a third-period power play and added the lone goal in a seven-round shootout. Mikko Rantanen had a goal and an assist.
Boston 4 – CAROLINA 3 (SO)…Charlie Coyle and Jake DeBrusk scored in the shootout to send the Bruins past the Hurricanes after Boston let a two-goal third-period lead slip away. David Pastrnak scored twice in regulation and has surpassed 50 goals on the season.
Vancouver 4 – CHICAGO 2… Elias Pettersson scored back-to-back goals 1:03 apart in to break a third-period tie and Brock Boeser added an empty-netter in the Canucks’ win over the Blackhawks. Andrei Kuzmenko had two assists.
Toronto 3 – NASHVILLE 2… John Tavares’ second power-play goal of the game came with 4:53 remaining and proved to be decisive in the Maple Leafs’ defeat of the Predators. Tavares also assisted on Alexander Kerfoot’s second-period goal.
