Florida 9 – MONTREAL 5… Carter Verhaeghe scored two of the Panthers’ seven first-period goals and they coasted past the Canadiens. Aaron Ekblad also found the net twice for Florida. Matthew Tkachuk had a goal and three assists.

N.Y. RANGERS 4 – Pittsburgh 2… Chris Kreider netted a tie-breaking goal in third period and added an empty-netter in pushing the Rangers past the Penguins. Mika Zibanejad scored a goal and assisted on another.

Tampa Bay 4 – NEW JERSEY 3 (SO)… Ross Colton and Alex Killorn scored in the shootout to send the Lightning past the Devils. Steven Stamkos scored two goals and had an assist in regulation.

Colorado 5 – OTTAWA 4… Goals by Cale Makar and Valeri Nichushkin gave the Avalanche a two-goal lead in the first five minutes and they hung on at the end to edge the Senators. Mikko Rantanen had a goal and two assists. Nathan MacKinnon assisted on three goals.

Chicago 2 – NASHVILLE 1… Joey Anderson’s third-period goal proved to be the difference as the Blackhawks held off the Predators. Lukas Reichel opened the scoring with 47 seconds left in the first period. Goalie Alex Stalock made 35 saves.

Boston 3 – WINNIPEG 0… Bruins goalie Jeremy Swayman stopped all 36 shots in blanking the Jets for his third shutout of the season. Trent Frederic and Pavel Zacha provided all the offense Boston needed with first-period goals. Tomas Nosek added an empty-netter.

EDMONTON 4 – Dallas 1… Connor McDavid scored his NHL-leading 57th goal of the season and set up a goal as the Oilers cruised past the Stars. Evan Bouchard had two assists. Goalie Stuart Skinner made 25 saves.

ARIZONA 3 – Vancouver 2… Travis Boyd scored a pair of goals and Lawson Crouse’s power-play goal early in the third period proved decisive in the Coyotes’ win over the Canucks. Ivan Prosvetov stopped 29 shots at goal.

Calgary 7 – VEGAS 2… Tylor Toffoli netted two goals and assisted on two others to lead the Flames in their thrashing of the Golden Knights. Blake Coleman also scored twice for Calgary. Elias Lindholm and Rasmus Andersson each had two assists.

LOS ANGELES 4 – Columbus 1… The Kings scored all four goals unanswered in the second period to bury the Blue Jackets. Drew Doughty broke a scoreless tie. Carl Grundstrom had a goal and an assist. Goalie Pheonix Copley made 28 saves.

Seattle 2 – SAN JOSE 1 (OT)… Oliver Bjorkstrand scored a tying goal in the third period and assisted on Vince Dunn’s game-winning goal at 1:58 of overtime as the Kraken outlasted the Sharks. Goalie Philipp Grubauer made 31 stops.
