Colorado 2 – TORONTO 1 (SO)… Nathan MacKinnon scored the lone goal in the shootout to send the Avalanche past the Maple Leafs. Mikko Rantanen netted a tying goal on a first-period power play.
WASHINGTON 5 – Buffalo 4 (SO)… The Capitals came from two goals down late in the third period to outlast the Sabres. Evgeny Kuznetsov and T.J. Oshie scored in the tiebreaker. Oshie also scored a first-period goal.
N.Y. Islanders 6 – ANAHEIM 3… Brock Nelson netted a pair of goals as the Islanders doubled up on the Ducks. Kyle Palmieri had a goal and three assists. Pierre Envell added a goal and an assist.
