Blues Beat Sharks

ST. LOUIS 4 – San Jose 2… Jakub Vrana scored early in the third period to break a tie and Robert Thomas added a power-play goal as the Blues put away the Sharks. Thomas also assisted on Torey Krug’s first-period goal. Jordan Binnington made 32 saves at goal.

 

Dallas 10 – BUFFALO 4… Radek Faksa found the net twice in leading the Stars in their shellacking of the Sabres. Jamie Benn and Mason Marchmont each had a goal and two assists. Jason Robertson set up three goals.

CAROLINA 1 – Philadelphia 0… Andrei Svechnikov scored 1:09 into the contest and the Hurricanes hung on to clip the Flyers. Goalie Pyotr Kochetkov stopped all 19 shots.

N.Y. Rangers 4 – MONTREAL 3 (SO)… Mika Zibanejad netted the lone goal in the shootout to send the Rangers past the Canadiens. Patrick Kane scored a tying goal late in the third period.

N.Y. Islanders 4 – PITTSBURGH 3 (OT)… The Islanders came from two goals down in the third period to outlast the Penguins. Brock Nelson netted the winning goal at 2:13 of overtime. Anders Lee scored two goals.

Vegas 4 – TAMPA BAY 3 (OT)… Alex Martinez’ goal 3:09 into overtime pushed the Golden Knights past the Lightning after Vegas blew a two-goal third-period lead. Jonathan Quick stopped 34 shots at goal.

New Jersey 3 – WASHINGTON 2 (SO)… Timo Meier netted the lone goal in the shootout to give the Devils a hard-fought win over the Capitals. Erik Haula and Dawson Mercer scored third-period goals. Mercer also had an assist.

Edmonton 3 – BOSTON 2… The Oilers rallied past the Bruins after spotting them a two goal lead through a period and a half. Darnell Nurse scored a tie-breaking goal with 4:49 remaining. Evan Bouchard put Edmonton on the board midway through the second period.

ARIZONA 4 – Nashville 1… Barrett Hayton and Jack McBain scored 49 seconds apart in the third period and Nick Schmaltz added an empty-netter as the Coyotes skated past the Predators. Brett Ritchie opened the scoring in the first period.

Los Angeles 5 – COLORADO 2… Adrian Kempe and Philip Danault scored two goals apiece and the Kings cruised past the Avalanche. Anze Kopitar assisted on three goals. Goalie Joonas Korpisalo made 28 saves.

Ottawa 5 – SEATTLE 4… The Senators jumped out to a three-goal lead midway through the first period but need a pair of goals in the third to top the Kraken. Alex DeBrincat scored the game-winner with 2:23 remaining. Jakob Chychrun had a goal and an assist.
