The Kirksville Tigers had a battle on their hands with Chillicothe but pulled away in the second half to beat the Hornets 57-48, on a night when Keaton Anderson became a member of the 1,000 point club. KHS trailed 20-15 before going on a 10-0 run to take a 25-20 lead into the break. Another outstanding 3rd quarter for the Tigers, as they outscored Chillicothe 19-9 to take a 44-31 lead. The Hornets got the game to within 6 points in the fourth, but two back to back layups by Anderson and Isaac Danielson put the lead back at ten late in the game. Anderson reached 1,000 points by making the front end of a one and one late in the fourth and finished the night with 22 points. Danielson led Kirksville with 23. Only two other Tigers scored, Cole Kelly with 7, Camden Dempsay with 6. A Bonderer poured on the points for Chillicothe in the boys game, too with 21 points, 14 in the first quarter, but KHS wins 57-48 to climb to 17-7 on the year. The Tigers will be part two of Tuesday’s double header at Marshall on KIRX.
