The Kirksville Tigers and Southern Boone Eagles went toe to toe Saturday for three and a half quarters before the Tigers pulled away late to win 56-47 to win third place at the Southern Boone Classic. The Eagles opened with an 11-4 lead before KHS fought back to tie it at 13-13 at the end of one. KHS took a 27-23 lead into the locker room, then the Eagles outscored KHS 15-11 to tie the game back up at 38-38 at the end of three. Southern Boone called a time out late in the game, but Kirksville benefited from it by taking the game over from that point on and won 56-47. Isaac Danielson led all scorers with 21, nine of those in the fourth quarter. Keaton Anderson chipped in with 14. KHS climbs to 14-6 on the season and they will be part two of Tuesday’s doubleheader against Moberly at Tiger Gym.
