ARIZONA 5 – St. Louis 0… Coyotes goalie Karel Vejmelka stopped all 33 shots in shutting out the Blues. Nick Schmaltz scored Minnesota’s first three goals and added an assist. Barrett Hayton had a goal and an assist. Nick Ritchie assisted on two goals.
Detroit 4 – MONTREAL 3 (OT)… Robby Fabbri’s goal at 2:36 of overtime lifted the Red Wings over the Canadiens. Moritz Seider assisted on three goals. Jonatan Berggren and Oskar Sundqvist netted second-period goals.
TAMPA BAY 3 – Boston 2… Victor Hedman netted a tie-breaking goal with 6:41 remaining and the Lightning hung on to edge the Bruins. Brandon Hagel and Nikita Kucherov also scored for Tampa Bay. Goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy made 37 saves.
WASHINGTON 3 – Pittsburgh 2 (SO)… Evgeny Kuznetsov and Nicklas Backstrom scored in the shootout to send the Capitals past the Penguins. Alex Ovechkin opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period. Marcus Johansson also found the net.
MINNESOTA 3 – Philadelphia 2 (OT)… Mats Zuccarello found the net at 2:08 of overtime to give the Wild a hard-fought win over the Flyers. Matt Boldy netted Minnesota’s first two goals and had an assist.
NASHVILLE 6 – New Jersey 4… The Predators buried the Devils with a three-goal third-period. Matt Duchene netted the go-ahead goal and had an assist. Colton Sissons and Cole Smith each had two assists.
Buffalo 3 – WINNIPEG 2… The Sabres scored the game’s first three goals and withstood a late rally to edge the Jets. Victor Olofsson netted what proved to be the decisive goal on a third-period power play. Owen Power and Tage Thompson scored first-period goals. Jeff Skinner set up two goals.
Chicago 5 – CALGARY 1… The Blackhawks scored three-unanswered goals in the second period to break a tie and put away the Flames. Boris Katchouk netted the tie-breaking goal. Jaxson Stauber made 34 saves at goal.
Anaheim 5 – COLORADO 3… The Ducks came from two goals down in the second period to upend the Avalanche. Adam Henrique and Mason McTavish scored back-to-back goals 24 seconds apart midway through the third period. Frank Vatrano scored into an empty net to finish off a hat trick.
