The Kirksville Tigers advanced to the Highland Tournament championship game with a hard fought win over a good Palmyra team Thursday 51-43. Kirksville led throughout, although it was never a commanding lead. Coach Martin said it was the best rebounding performance of the season for KHS and that helped them hang on. Also, a perfect 6 for 6 at the free throw line helped the Tigers hang on. Isaac Danielson had four of those, Keaton Anderson the other two. Anderson led all scorers with 22 points, Danielson had 18. Only two other Tigers scored, Camden Dempsay with 6, Cole Kelly with 5. KHS has now won three straight, climbs to 8-3 on the year and will play Macon for the Tournament championship Saturday at 6:00, pregame 5:45 on KIRX. Friday, the Lady Tigers battle Macon for 5th place, 4:15 with the pregame and the tip a 4:30.
