The Kirksville Tigers were outsized and outmuscled in their loss at Columbia Rock Bridge Monday 71-36. The Tigers just couldn’t buy a basket from inside or out, and the Bruins made rebounding hay against the Tigers. Led by Jagger Cornell, who scored 18 points, the Bruins were able to take a 39-18 halftime lead. Cornell, with offensive putbacks, scored 8 in the second quarter and 10 in the third before the game went turbo clock in the fourth. Rock Bridge had 5 players in double figures. KHS was led by Isaac Danielson with 8 points, a field goal and 6 free throws. Ike was 6 out of 8 at the stripe. Keaton Anderson and Cole Kelly each had 6. The Tigers dip to 1-1 and will next play Clark Co. in the home opener next Tuesday. The Lady Tigers play in the Sophie Cunningham Classic Saturday against Southern Boone at Columbia College.
