SAINT JOSEPH, Mo. – Truman State Women’s basketball was defeated 81-72 by Missouri Western on Wednesday night.
Truman got off to a 11-4 start to begin the game and held the lead until the 8:57 mark of the second quarter when the Griffons tied it at 21.
Both squads would trade leads going into the fourth quarter, but Missouri Western would go on a 7-0 run to lead 61-55.
The Griffons would take a 10-point lead with three minutes left, and would win the game by nine.
Hannah Belanger would finish with a team-high 25 points. She also had six rebounds and an assist.
Maddie Niemeier, Ellie Weltha, Alex Fanning would also record double-digit points.
The Bulldogs fall to 1-2 on the season, and play at Upper Iowa on Saturday, November 19, at 2:00 p.m.
