Vancouver 5 – BUFFALO 4… The Canucks built a three-goal lead midway through the second period and held off the Sabres. Bo Horvat scored a goal and assisted on two others. Elias Pettersson had a goal and an assist.

FLORIDA 5 – Washington 2… Carter Verhaeghe scored back-to-back goals in the final three minutes to cap the Panthers’ defeat of the Capitals. Aleksander Barkov had a goal and an assist. Matthew Tkachuk assisted on three goals. Sergei Bobrovsky made 41 saves at goal.

New Jersey 5 – MONTREAL 1… The Devils cruised past the Canadiens for their 10th straight win. Jack Hughes scored two goals and assisted on another. Dougie Hamilton added a goal and an assist. Goalie Vitek Vanecek stopped 25 shots.

Toronto 5 – PITTSBURGH 2… Michael Bunting scored a pair of second-period goals and had an assist to highlight the Maple Leafs’ win over the Penguins. Auston Matthews set up two goals. Matt Murray made 35 saves at goal.

TAMPA BAY 5 – Dallas 4 (OT)… Alex Killorn found the net at 3:43 of overtime to give the Lightning a hard-fought win over the Stars. Killorn also assisted on two goals in regulation. Ross Colton, Nicholas Paul, Steven Stamkos and Ian Cole all had a goal and an assist.

COLUMBUS 5 – Philadelphia 4 (OT)… The Blue Jackets recovered to hand the Flyers their fourth straight loss after blowing a two-goal third-period lead. Vladislav Gavrikov netted the winning goal at 3:14 of overtime. Boone Jenner netted two goals. Travis Konecny had a goal and an assist.

NASHVILLE 2 – Minnesota 1… Nino Niederreiter and Matt Duchene scored first-period goals to provide the Predators with all the scoring they needed to edge the Wild. Ryan Johansen assisted on both goals.

ANAHEIM 3 – Detroit 2 (OT)… Ryan Strome scored with 49 seconds left in overtime to send the Ducks past the Red Wings. John Klingberg netted a tying goal with 47 seconds left in regulation. Mason McTavish lit the lamp with a power-play goal in the first period.

San Jose 5 – VEGAS 2… Matt Nieto scored the first of four unanswered third-period goals that carried the Sharks past the Golden Knights. Timo Maier netted a tie-breaking power-play goal with 2:48 remaining. Logan Couture and Mario Ferraro added empty-netters.
