Cardinals Blow Ninth Inning Lead, Drop Game One To Phillies

Philadelphia rallied for six runs in the ninth, silencing a sellout crowd at Busch Stadium and sending the Phillies to a 6-3 victory over the Cardinals n the opening game of their National League wild-card series.

Juan Yepez hit a pinch hit two run homer in the seventh to break a scoreless tie and give the Cardinals a 2-0 lead.  But in the top of the ninth closer Ryan Helsley fell apart, issuing two walks and a hit batter. The Phillies took full advantage and put six runs on the board to take a 6-2 ninth inning lead.

St. Louis scratched out a run in the bottom of the ninth, but the Phillies pick up the win 6-3.
