NFL Scores Sunday 9-25

CHICAGO 23 – Houston 20… Cairo Santos booted a 30-yard field goal on the game’s final play to lift the Bears  (2-1) over the Texans (0-2-1).  Roquan Smith set up the winning kick with an interception deep in Houston territory. Khalil Herbert ran for a career-high 157 yards and two touchdowns for Chicago.

TENNESSEE 24 – Las Vegas 22… The Titans (1-2) led from start to finish in their win over the Raiders (0-3). Ryan Tannehill threw for a touchdown and ran for another. Derrick Henry ran for 85 yards and a touchdown and also had 58 yards receiving.

INDIANAPOLIS 20 – Kansas City 17… Matt Ryan’s 12-yard touchdown pass to rookie Jelani Woods with 24 seconds remaining gave the Colts (1-1-1) a come-from-behind win over the Chiefs (2-1).  Ryan also found Woods with a 1-yard TD toss to open the scoring in the first quarter.

MIAMI 21 – Buffalo 19… The Dolphins (3-0) held on at the end to top the Bills (2-1) in an AFC East showdown. The defense came up with a big goal-line stand late in the fourth quarter and had to hold again after Miami botched its ensuing punt. Chase Edmonds scored twice on short touchdown runs. Tua Tagovailoa hit River Cracraft with an 11-yard TD pass.

MINNESOTA 28 – Detroit 24… Kirk Cousins found a wide-open K.J. Osborn with go-ahead, 28-yard touchdown pass with 45 seconds remaining to rally the Vikings (2-1) past the Lions (1-2). Minnesota’s Dalvin Cook rushed for 96 yards and a score before leaving with a shoulder injury late in the third quarter.

Baltimore 37 – NEW ENGLAND 26… Lamar Jackson threw for four touchdowns and ran for another in leading the Ravens (2-1) past the Patriots (1-2). Jackson passed for 218 yards and rushed for 107 more. Mark Andrews had eight catches for 89 yards and two TDs.

Cincinnati 27 – N.Y. JETS 12… Joe Burrow completed 23 of 36 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns as the Bengals (1-2) pounded the Jets (1-2) for their first win over the season. Cincinnati stifled New York defensively and intercepted Joe Flacco twice.

Philadelphia 24 – WASHINGTON 8… DeVonta Smith hauled in eight Jalen Hurts passes for 169 yards and a touchdown to lead the Eagles (3-0) in their thrashing of the Commanders (1-2). Hurts was 22-of-35 for 340 yards. Washington managed just 50 first-half yards.

CAROLINA 22 – New Orleans 14… The Panthers (1-2) fought off the Saints (1-2) to snap a nine-game losing streak. Baker Mayfield connected with Laviska Shenault on a 67-yard touchdown pass. Christian McCaffrey led the ground game with 108 yards. Marquis Haynes returned a fumble 44 yards for a TD.  Carolina’s defense intercepted Winston twice in the fourth quarter.

Jacksonville 38 – L.A. CHARGERS 10… Trevor Lawrence threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns as the Jaguars (2-1) rolled past the Chargers (1-2) to snap an 18-game losing streak.  James Robinson ran 50 yards for a third-quarter TD run on fourth down and finished with 100 yards rushing.

L.A. Rams 20 – ARIZONA 12… The Rams (2-1) kept the Cardinals (1-2) out of the end zone in beating them for the 11th time in 12 tries. Cam Akers and Cooper Kupp ran for touchdowns. Matthew Stafford threw for 249 yards,

Atlanta 27 – SEATTLE 23… Marcus Mariota’s 14-yard touchdown pass to rookie Drake London in the third quarter gave the Falcons (1-2) the lead for good in their win over the Seahawks (1-2). Cordarrelle Patterson rushed for a career-high 141 yards and a score. Richie Grant’s interception with 1:30 left sealed the victory.

Green Bay 14 – TAMPA BAY 12… The Packers (2-1) held on in the second half to get past the Buccaneers (2-1). Aaron Rodgers hit Romeo Doubs and Allen Lazard with first-half touchdown passes and finished with 255 yards passing. Counterpart Tom Brady passed for 271 yards and a TD but was sacked three times in the first-ever NLF matchup in which each starting quarterback has won at least three regular-season league MVP awards.

DENVER 11 – San Francisco 10… The Broncos (2-1) edged the 49ers (1-2) in only the second NFL game in history to end with an 11-10 score. Melvin Gordon III’s 1-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter provided the winning margin. Denver recorded a second-quarter safety when San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo stepped out of the end zone. Safety Kareem Jackson recovered Jeff Wilson Jr.‘s fumble with 1:05 left at the San Francisco 24-yard line to preserve the victory.
