MLB Scores Thursday 9-15

NATIONAL LEAGUE
MIAMI 5 – Philadelphia 3… Jordan Groshans opened the scoring with a homer to lead off the bottom of the third inning and the Marlins got a three-run blast from Bryan De La Cruz in the fourth on their way past the Phillies. De La Cruz also lifted a sacrifice fly. Pablo López (9-10) allowed two runs on four hits over 6-2/3 innings.

N.Y. METS 7 – Pittsburgh 1… Daniel Vogelbach knocked in three runs with a single and a double as the Mets rolled past the Pirates. Francisco Lindor homered with a runner aboard. Carlos Carrasco (15-8) gave up a run on four hits and struck out 11 over six innings.

Cincinnati 3 – ST. LOUIS 2… The Reds held off the Cardinals to snap a six-game losing streak. Nick Senzel and Aristides Aquino hit solo homers for Cincinnati. Chase Anderson (1-2) surrendered just a run on one hit over five innings.

ARIZONA 4 – San Diego 0… Drey Jameson (1-0) celebrated his call-up from the minor leagues by pitching two-hit ball over seven innings and got help from three relievers in the shutout of the Padres. Emmanuel Rivera, Ketel Marte and Carson Kelly hit solo homers for Arizona.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Chi. White Sox 8 – CLEVELAND 2… Gavin Sheets homered with a runner aboard and the White Sox got solo shots from Andrew Vaughn, Yoan Moncada, Yasmani Grandal and Elvis Andrus in their pounding of the Guardians. Lance Lynn (7-5) gave up two runs on six hits over 6-1/3 innings.

Tampa Bay 11 – TORONTO 0… Shane McClanahan (12-5) pitched three-hit ball over five innings and four relievers completed the Rays’ shutout of the Blue Jays. Yandy Díaz cracked a three-run homer. Isaac Paredes also went deep. Manuel Margot capped the scoring with a bases-clearing double.

HOUSTON 5 – Oakland 2… Aledmys Diaz hit a tie-breaking two-run homer and Kyle Tucker added a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Astros put away the Athletics. Lance McCullers Jr. allowed two runs on two hits and struck out 11 over six solid innings but the win went to reliever Seth Martinez (1-1).

MINNESOTA 3 – Kansas City 2… Nick Gordon connected for a tie-breaking two-run homer in the bottom of the second inning and the Twins hung on to edge the Royals. Carlos Correa homered in the first for Minnesota. Five relievers provided five shutout innings in relief of starter Dylan Bundy.
