Bob Stice

Robert (Bob) Clinton Stice, 84 of Downing, Missouri passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri.

The son of Loral Otho and Vera Florence (Lewis) Stice, he was born on October 12, 1937 in Centerville, Iowa. On June 3, 1956 in Downing, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Arlene Mullinix and to this union three children were born, Roger, Mickey and Brenda.

Bob is survived by his children, Mickey Stice and wife, Lurene of Downing, Missouri and Brenda Wall Swedberg-Bruner of Edina, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Margie Stice of Hamilton, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, Jessica (Darrell) Schrapf, Megan (Jesse) Ogle, Justin Stice, Mitchell (Chelsea) Stice, James Stice, Robert Stice, Aaron (Rachel) Stice, Katie Stice (Michael), Chad Stice, Ashley Spurgeon (Bryson) and Dusty Swedberg (Melissa); 13 great grandchildren, Nathan, Savannah, Allison, Emmy, Makayla (Logan), Maisy, Eli, Landis, Edward, Emerson, Aura, Drake and Annelise; one brother, Jim (Judy) Stice; half-brothers and sisters, Larry (Raenelle) Smith, Judy (Arlo) Agee, Otho (Ulla) Stice, Rex (Cindy) Stice, Rick Stice, Debbie Shefferd, Linda (Mark) Catlett, Patty (Jim) Murphy, Otto Randy (Joan) Stice, Virginia Ernst and Donnie (Julie) Stice; two brothers-in-law, DeWayne (Virginia) Mullinix and Terry Kelley; one sister-in-law, Leona Stice; two special family friends, Randy Whitlow of Lancaster, Missouri and Daniel Spurgeon of Downing, Missouri as well as numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and neighbors.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Arlene Stice on March 30, 2022; one son, Roger Stice; three sons-in-law, John Wall, Dean Swedberg and Donnie Bruner; one grandson, Dakota Swedberg; one great granddaughter, Molly Mann; stepmother Virginia Stice and stepfather Clifton Smith; two brother Loral and wife Barbara Stice and Vernon Stice; two half-sisters, Dorothy Stice Kelley and Rose Stice Conrad and one half-brother, Charles Stice in infancy.

Bob was a member of the Downing United Methodist Church in Downing, Missouri. He was employed with the Burlington Northern Railroad company for many years as a track laborer.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Pastor Larry Smith of Downing, Missouri officiating. Music will be special CD selections of “When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder” and “In The Garden.” Pallbearers will be Robert Stice, Justin Stice, Aaron Stice, Mitchell Stice, Dusty Swedberg, James Stice and Chad Stice. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Scurlock, Ellis Speer, Charles Comstock, Ralph Small, Rodney Newland, Laverne Weilbrenner and Steve Blessing. Brenda Bruner will give a eulogy.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri.
