Reds Shut Down Cardinals

Former St. Louis catcher Austin Romine hit a two-run homer as the Cincinnati Reds roughed up Dakota Hudson and beat the Cardinals 5-1 Tuesday night, ending their three-game winning streak.

Hudson (7-7) gave up five straight hits to start a four-run burst in the third.

Hudson went 4 2/3 innings, giving up nine hits and five runs with one walk.

LHP José Quintana (4-6, 3.45) will pitch for St. Louis tonight, 4:45 with the pregame and the first pitch at 5:40 on KIRX.

Pittsburgh beat the Brewers 4-2 keeping the Cardinal’s lead at 6 games.
