NATIONAL LEAGUE
St. Louis 8 – CHI. CUBS 3… Paul Goldschmidt homered twice and knocked in five runs to lead the Cardinals past the Cubs. Corey Dickerson had three hits, including an RBI single to spark a three-run top of the first inning. Dakota Hudson (7-6) gave up two runs on five hits over seven innings.

PHILADELPHIA 4 – Cincinnati 0… Aaron Nola went the distance, limiting the Reds to five hits and striking out 11 in the shutout. Kyle Schwarber homered with the bases empty. Edmundo Sosa drove in the Phillies’ other three runs with a sacrifice fly and a two-run single.

N.Y. METS 3 – Colorado 1… Pete Alonso homered with a runner aboard as the Mets scored all three runs in the bottom of the third inning and held off the Rockies. Jacob deGrom allowed a run on three hits over six innings.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
TAMPA BAY 8 – L.A. ANGELS 3… Isaac Paredes hit a two-run homer to cap a five-run bottom of the third inning and the Rays never looked back in downing the Angels. Manuel Margot went 4-fir-5 with a two-run triple. Drew Rasmussen (9-4) gave up a run on six hits over 5-1/3 innings.

SEATTLE 3 – Cleveland 1… Mitch Haniger belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning to provide the Mariners with all the offense they needed to top the Guardians. Marco Gonzales (9-12) allowed a run on four hits over six innings.

BALTIMORE 4 – Chi. White Sox 3 (11 innings)… Anthony Santander homered with a runner aboard in the bottom of the first inning and singled home Cedric Mullins in the 11th inning to lead the Orioles past the White Sox. Kyle Stowers connected for a game-tying solo homer in the ninth.

Toronto 6 – BOSTON 5 (10 innings)… George Springer’s infield grounder in the top of the 10th inning scored Cavan Biggio with the tie-breaking run and the Blue Jays made it stand in outlasting the Red Sox. Danny Jansen homered for Toronto. Bo Bichette doubled home two runs and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. added a two-run single.

HOUSTON 6 – Minnesota 3… The Astros rolled past the Twins after spotting them an early lead. Trey Mancini’s three-run homer capped a four-run bottom of the first inning. Christian Vazquez went 2-for-3 with an RBI single.

N.Y. Yankees 13 – OAKLAND 4… Giancarlo Stanton and Josh Donaldson drove in three runs apiece and the Yankees crushed the Athletics. Donaldson, Andrew Benintendi and Oswaldo Cabrera had three hits apiece to lead a 20-hit attack. Jameson Taillon (12-4) gave up a run on six hits over six innings.
