NATIONAL LEAGUE
Cincinnati 9 – PITTSBURGH 5… Jake Fraley homered to lead off the game, singled home a pair of runs and scored four times in leading the Reds past the Pirates. Mike Moustakas homered with a runner aboard. Donovan Solano went 3-for-5 with a pair of run-scoring singles.
N.Y. Mets 10 – PHILADELPHIA 9… The Mets overcame four- and three-run deficits to outslug the Phillies. Mark Canha went 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBIs. Brandon Nimmo’s solo homer in the top of the ninth inning proved to be the difference.
Milwaukee 5 – CHI. CUBS 2… Keston Hiura smacked a game-tying solo homer in the top of the seventh inning and added a two-run shot in the ninth as the Brewers got past the Cubs. Rowdy Tellez also went deep for Milwaukee.
San Francisco 9 – COLORADO 8 (11 innings)… Wilmer Flores’ sacrifice fly in the top of the 11th inning scored Mike Yastrzemski with a tie-breaking run and the Giants made it stand in outlasting the Rockies after both teams scored twice in the 10th. Evan Longoria unloaded a grand slam for San Francisco.
L.A. DODGERS 10 – Miami 3… Max Muncy had three hits and knocked in three runs to lead the Dodgers in their thrashing of the Marlins. Cody Bellinger hit a two-run homer. Max Muncy homered with the bases empty and singled home a run. Ryan Pepiot (2-0) gave up two runs on four hits over six innings.
St. Louis 6 – ARIZONA 4… The Cardinals made it seven straight wins with their defeat of the Diamondbacks. Nolan Arenado delivered a to-ahead two-run single in the top of the seventh inning. Arenado also singled home a run during a three-run first. Lars Nootbaar homered to lead off the game.
SAN DIEGO 2 – Washington 1… Josh Bell hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning and the Padres held on to edge the Nationals. Sean Manaea (7-6) gave up a run on five hits over seven innings in outdueling counterpart Patrick Corbin (4-17).
AMERICAN LEAGUE
DETROIT 4 – L.A. Angels 0… Eduardo Rodriguez (2-3) pitched four-hit ball over five innings and four relievers shut the door as the Tigers blanked the Angels. Riley Greene’s homer to lead off the bottom of the first inning provided all the offense Detroit needed. Victor Reyes added a two-run triple in the fourth.
TAMPA BAY 3 – Kansas City 2… Harold Ramirez’s delivered his second RBI single of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Rays the lead for good in their win over the Royals. Christian Bethancourt homered for Tampa Bay. Kansas City managed just two unearned runs on four hits off five Tampa Bay pitchers.
N.Y. YANKEES 4 – Toronto 2… Andrew Benintendi cracked a tie-breaking two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning and the Yankees held on to down the Blue Jays and avoid a four-game sweep. DJ LeMahieu produced a pair of run-scoring single for New York.
Texas 7 – MINNESOTA 0… Kohei Arihara (1-1) limited the Twins to four hits over six innings and Taylor Hearn provided hitless relief the rest of the way in the Rangers’ shutout win. Marcus Semien hit a solo homer and drove in three runs. Brad Miller added three RBIs with a pair of singles.
OAKLAND 5 – Seattle 3… Shea Langeliers went 3-for-4 with an RBI triple as the Athletics handled the Mariners. Sean Murphy had a couple of hits and doubled home a run. JP Sears (5-0) allowed a run on six hits over five innings.
BALTIMORE 5 – Boston 3… Jorge Mateo stroked a tie-breaking, bases-clearing triple in the bottom of the eighth inning to send the Orioles past the Red Sox in the Little League Classic played in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Anthony Santander went 3-for-4 with an RBI single.
Chi. White Sox – CLEVELAND (ppd)… Rain in Cleveland forced postponement of yesterday’s White Sox-Guardians game. A makeup date was not announced.
INTERLEAGUE
Houston 5 – ATLANTA 4… The Astros withstood a ninth-inning rally to top the Braves in a matchup of division leaders. Yordan Alvarez had a couple of hits, including a two-run single. Jose Urquidy (12-4) gave up two runs on five hits over seven innings.
