Paul DeJong hit a two-run double with two outs in the eighth inning, lifting the Cardinals over the New York Yankees 4-3 Friday night.
The Cardinals trailed 3-1 in the sixth before Tyler O’Neill drove in a run on a base hit, DeJong would provide the eventual winning two run double in the eighth.
Andre Pallante got the win in relief, Ryan Helsley notched his 10th save.
Starter Dakota Hudson worked four innings, allowing three runs on seven hits.
The Cardinals claimed INF Kramer Robertson off waivers from the New York Mets and optioned him to Triple-A Memphis, and transferred RHP Drew VerHagen (right hip impingement) from the 15-day to the 60-day injured list.
