NATIONAL LEAGUE
Miami 7 – CINCINNATI 6… Pinch-hitter Jesus Sánchez hit a game-tying leadoff and the Marlins scored twice more in the top of the seventh inning on their way past the Reds. Jesus Aguilar homered with a runner aboard and knocked in four runs.
Philadelphia – PITTSBURGH… Darick Hall tripled home two runs and scored on a Rhys Hoskins single in the top of the first inning to give the Phillies an early lead and they never looked back in their win over the Pirates. Kyle Schwarber belted a three-run homer. Zack Wheeler (9-5) allowed two runs on three hits over seven innings.
L.A. Dodgers 13 – COLORADO 0… Trea Turner went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs to lead the Dodgers in their romp over the Rockies. Will Smith also had three RBIs. Tyler Anderson (11-1) pitched four-hit ball over seven innings and two relievers completed the shutout.
SAN FRANCISCO 4 – Chi. Cubs 2… The Giants eased past the Cubs to snap their seven-game losing streak. Yermin Mercedes went 2-for-3 with a two-run single. Austin Slater had a couple of hits and an RBI.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
BALTIMORE 3 – Tampa Bay 0… Jordan Lyles (7-8) pitched three-hit ball over 5-2/3 innings and got help from three Orioles relievers in the blanking of the Rays. Anthony Santander doubled home the only run Baltimore needed in the bottom of the third inning. Trey Mancini added a two-run inside-the-park homer in the eighth.
N.Y. YANKEES 1 – Kansas City 0… Aaron Judge’s one-out homer in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Yankees over the Royals. Greyber Torres’ two-out single in the fourth was New York’s only other hit. The game featured a dual between Yankees starter Jameson Taillon and his counterpart Brady Singer, but neither got a decision. Singer allowed just one hit and struck out 11 over seven innings.
BOSTON 4 – Cleveland 2… Xavier Bogaerts’ three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning carried the Red Sox past the Guardians. Bobby Dalbec added a run-scoring single in the seventh. Starter Kutter Crawford allowed just a run on three hits over 5-2/3 innings but the win went to reliever Jake Diekman (5-1).
TORONTO – Detroit… Matt Chapman homered twice and knocked in three runs to power the Blue Jays past the Tigers. Alejandro Kirk went 2-for-3 with an RBI single. Yusei Kikuchi (4-5) limited Detroit to a run on two hits over five innings.
HOUSTON 4 – Seattle 2… Alex Bregman hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning and doubled home a tie-breaking run in the eighth in leading the Astros past the Mariners. Houston was coming off a sweep at Oakland.
Texas 2 – L.A. ANGELS 0… Spencer Howard pitched three-hit ball over five innings and three relievers shut the door as the Rangers shut out the Angels. Nathaniel Lowe opened the scoring with a leadoff homer in the top of the fourth inning and Corey Seager doubled home a run in the fifth.
