NATIONAL LEAGUE
WASHINGTON 9 – Philadelphia 3… Juan Soto belted a three-run homer and Maikel Franco added a two-run shot as the Nationals bombed the Phillies. Franco opened the scoring with an RBI single in the top of the second inning. Jackson Tetrault (1-1) allowed three unearned runs on six hits over seven innings.
PITTSBURGH 4 – San Francisco 3… Jack Suwinski led off the bottom of the ninth inning with his third solo homer of the day to give the Pirates a walk-off win over the Giants. Hoy Park also went deep for Pittsburgh.
Miami 6 – N.Y. METS 2… Jerar Encarnacion unloaded a grand slam and Jon Berti doubled home a run during a five-run top of the seventh inning that carried the Marlins past the Mets. Sandy Alcantara (7-2) gave up two runs on six hits over eight innings.
Milwaukee 6 – CINCINNATI 3… Mark Mathias lifted a tie-breaking sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning and smacked a two-run homer in the seventh to send the Brewers past the Reds. Victor Caratini and Hunter Renfroe hit two-run homers.
Atlanta 6 – CHI. CUBS 0… Ian Anderson pitched three-hit ball over 6-2/3 innings and three Braves relievers completed the shutout of the Cubs. Travis d’Arnaud belted a three-run homer. Michael Harris II also circled the bases. Matt Olson went 3-for-3 with a run-scoring double.
COLORADO 8 – San Diego 3… Randal Grichuk’s three-run homer capped a five-run bottom of the fifth inning and the Rockies coasted past the Padres. Elias Diaz had three hits, including a solo homer, and knocked in three runs. Antonio Senzatela (3-3) surrendered a run on six hits over six innings.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
BALTIMORE 2 – Tampa Bay 1… Five pitchers held the Rays to a run on nine hits and the Orioles held on for the win. Cedric Mullins’ RBI double in the third proved to be the difference. Anthony Santander homered in the first.
TORONTO 10 – N.Y. Yankees 9… The Blue Jays came from five runs down in the sixth inning to slug their way past the Yankees. Lourdes Gurriel Jr.’s grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning brought Toronto within a run and Teoscar Hernandez added a go-ahead three-run blast in the seventh. George Springer and Vladimir Guerrero, Jr., also went deep for the Jays.
DETROIT 7 – Texas 3… Spencer Torkelson stroked a tie-breaking two-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning and the Tigers put away the Rangers. Robbie Grossman slugged a three-run homer and singled home a run for Detroit.
OAKLAND 4 – Kansas City 0… Jared Koenig (1-2) pitched two-hit ball over 5-2/3 innings and three relievers gave up just one hit the rest of the way in the Athletics’ blanking of the Royals. Seth Brown provided all the offense Oakland needed with a first-inning homer. Sean Murphy added a three-run blast in the sixth.
L.A. Angels 4 – SEATTLE 0… Starter Kenny Rosenberg surrendered both Mariners hits over 4-2/3 innings and five Angels relievers shut the door. Mike Trout homered for the fifth time in the five-game series.
HOUSTON 4 – Chi. White Sox 3… Mauricio Dubón’s two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning provided the winning margin as the Astros held off the White Sox. J.J. Matijevic also connected for Houston. Cristian Javier (4-3) allowed just a run on two hits over the first five innings.
INTERLEAGUE
BOSTON 6 – St. Louis 4… Christian Vazquez had a couple of hits, including a three-run homer, as the Red Sox held off the Cardinals. Trevor Story homered with the bases empty. Nick Pivetta (7-5) allowed a run on four hits and struck out 10 over seven innings.
Cleveland 5 – L.A. DODGERS 3… Andres Giménez singled home a tie-breaking run and Ernie Clement lifted a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to push the Guardians past the Dodgers. Oscar Gonzalez homered for Cleveland.
ARIZONA 7 – Minnesota 1… Chris Kennedy’s grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning capped the scoring as the Diamondbacks rolled past the Twins. Christian Walker hit a pair of solo homers. Pavin Smith also homered with the bases empty
