MLB Scores Wednesday 6-15

NATIONAL LEAGUE
PHILADELPHIA 3 – Miami 1… Garrett Stubbs cracked a two-out, two-strike, three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Phillies over the Marlins. The game featured a duel between Philadelphia starter Kyle Gibson and his counterpart Daniel Castano, but neither got a decision.

ARIZONA 7 – Cincinnati 4… Luis Perdomo hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the second inning and singled home a run during a four-run eighth to lead the Diamondbacks past the Reds. David Peralta went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Atlanta 8 – WASHINGTON 2… The Braves cruised past the Nationals to extend their winning streak to 14 games. Austin Riley went 3-for-5 with a pair of two-run homers. Orlando Arcia singled home a run and homered with the bases empty. Michael Harris II produced a two-run single. Spencer Strider (3-2) limited Washington to two runs on one hit and struck out 11 over 5-2/3 innings.

Milwaukee 10 – N.Y. METS 2… The Brewers erupted to score seven runs in the top of the fifth inning and never looked back in their pounding of the Mets. Pinch-hitter Jace  Peterson came through with a two-run double. Willy Adames had three hits, including a two-run single. Corbin Burnes (4-4) surrendered two runs on five hits over six innings.

Pittsburgh 6 – ST. LOUIS 4… Bryan Reynolds connected for a tie-breaking two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning and the Pirates hung on to top the Cardinals. Pittsburgh took advantage of a pair of throwing errors to score twice in the second.

San Diego 19 – CHI. CUBS 5… The Padres used a 21-hit attack to throttle the Padres. Manny Machado, Jorge Alfaro and Luke Voit hit two-run homers. Machado also had a pair of RBI singles.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Chi. White Sox 13 – DETROIT 0… Three pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout and the White Sox pounded out 22 hits in their pummeling of the Tigers. Yoan Moncada went 5-for-6 with a three-run homer and two run-scoring singles. Seby Zavala homered with a runner aboard and Danny Mendick smacked a solo shot. Jose Abreu had four hits and knocked in two runs. Davis Martin (1-2) pitched three-hit ball over 5-1/3 innings in relief of starter Vince Velasquez.

Houston 9 – TEXAS 2… Yordan Alvarez smashed a two-run double to spark a six-run top of the first inning and the Astros never looked back in their thrashing of the Rangers. Martin Maldonado capped the uprising with a two-run double and added a solo homer in the fourth. Yuli Gurriel added a two-run homer. Luis Garcia (4-5) allowed two runs on four hits over six innings. One of the runs was unearned.

Minnesota 5 – SEATTLE 0… Ryan Jeffers’ RBI single in the top of the seventh broke a scoreless tie and the Twins put away the Mariners. Luis Arraez produced a two-run single during a three-run eighth. Six Minnesota pitchers held Seattle to five hits.

N.Y. YANKEES 4 – Tampa Bay 3… Kyle Hagioshoka’s three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning gave the Yankees a 4-0 lead and they held on to edge the Rays. Aaron Judge homered in the first for New York. Nestor Cortes (6-2) allowed just a run on three hits over 5-1/3 innings.

TORONTO 7 – Baltimore 6 (10 innings)… The Blue Jays recovered to hold off the Orioles after blowing a four-run seventh-inning lead. Vladimir Guerrero homered to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning and singled home Bo Bichette with the winning run in the 10th. Teoscar Hernández and Matt Chapman smacked two-run homers for Toronto.

BOSTON 10 – Oakland 1… Alex Verdugo had three hits, including a two-run homer, and drove in four runs to lead the Red Sox on their romp over the Athletics. Rafael Devers also homered with a runner aboard and scored three runs. Xavier Bogaerts went 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Josh Winckowski (1-1) pitched four-hit ball over five scoreless innings.

INTERLEAGUE
Kansas City 3 – SAN FRANCISCO 2… Whit Merrifield lifted a tie-breaking sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning and the Royals made it stand in squeaking out a win over the Giants. Five Kansas City relievers provided five scoreless innings.

Cleveland 7 – COLORADO 5… Amed Rosario went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and four runs scored in leading the Guardians past the Rockies. Oscar Mercado had a couple of hits and an RBI. Jose Ramirez had four hits and scored a run.

L.A. DODGERS 4 – L.A. Angels 1… Tyler Anderson (8-0) took a no-hitter into the ninth inning before surrendering a one-out triple to Shohei Ohtani and reliever Craig Kimbrel closed out the win. Will Smith crushed a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning. Trea Turner dded a solo shot in the third.
